55:31 سنفرغ لكم ايه الثقلان


TransliterationSanafrughu lakum ayyuha alththaqalani
LiteralWe will finish/end/complete (free ourselves) for you, oh you, the humans and Jinns (the two weights).

Yusuf AliSoon shall We settle your affairs, O both ye worlds!
PickthalWe shall dispose of you, O ye two dependents (man and jinn).
Arberry We shall surely attend to you at leisure, you weight and you weight!
ShakirSoon will We apply Ourselves to you, O you two armies.
SarwarJinn and mankind, We shall certainly settle your accounts.
KhalifaWe will call you to account, O humans and jinns.
Hilali/KhanWe shall attend to you, O you two classes (jinns and men)!
H/K/SaheehWe will attend to you, O prominent beings.
MalikO you, the two burdens (jinns and mankind)! Soon We shall find the time to call you to account.[31]
QXPSoon shall We lighten your burdens, O Burdened men and women!
Maulana AliSoon shall We apply Ourselves to you, O you two armies.
Free MindsWe will call you to account, both of you beings.
Qaribullah We shall surely aim, O both burdened.

George SaleWe will surely attend to judge you, O men and genii, at the last day.
JM RodwellWe will find leisure to judge you, O ye men and djinn:

Asad[ONE DAY] We shall take you to task, [Lit., "We shall apply Ourselves to you".] O you sin-laden two! [I.e., "you sin-laden men and women" (see note on verse 13 above). According to an interpretation quoted by Razi, the designation thaqalan (the dual form of thaqal, "a thing of weight") signifies that both these categories of human beings are liable to, and therefore burdened with, sinning.]
