63:1 سورة المنافقون بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛــــ اذا جاءك المنافقون قالوا نشهد انك لرسول الله والله يعلم انك لرسوله والله يشهد ان المنافقين لكاذبون


TransliterationItha jaaka almunafiqoona qaloo nashhadu innaka larasoolu Allahi waAllahu yaAAlamu innaka larasooluhu waAllahu yashhadu inna almunafiqeena lakathiboona
LiteralIf/when the hypocrites came to you, they said: "We testify/witness, that you are God's messenger (E)." And God knows that you are His messenger (E), and God witnesses/testifies that truly the hypocrites (are) liars/deniers/ falsifiers (E).

Yusuf AliWhen the Hypocrites come to thee, they say, "We bear witness that thou art indeed the Messenger of Allah." Yea, Allah knoweth that thou art indeed His Messenger, and Allah beareth witness that the Hypocrites are indeed liars.
PickthalWhen the hypocrites come unto thee (O Muhammad), they say: We bear witness that thou art indeed Allah's messenger. And Allah knoweth that thou art indeed His messenger, and Allah beareth witness that the hypocrites indeed are speaking falsely.
Arberry When the hypocrites come to thee they say, 'We bear witness that thou art indeed the Messenger of God.' And God knows that thou art indeed His Messenger, and God bears witness that the hypocrites are truly liars.
ShakirWhen the hypocrites come to you, they say: We bear witness that you are most surely Allah's Messenger; and Allah knows that you are most surely His Messenger, and Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are surely liars.
SarwarThey will never wish for death because of what they have done! God knows best about the unjust people.
KhalifaWhen the hypocrites come to you they say, "We bear witness that you are the messenger of GOD." GOD knows that you are His messenger, and GOD bears witness that the hypocrites are liars.
Hilali/KhanWhen the hypocrites come to you (O Muhammad SAW), they say: "We bear witness that you are indeed the Messenger of Allah." Allah knows that you are indeed His Messenger and Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are liars indeed.
H/K/SaheehWhen the hypocrites come to you, [O Muúammad], they say, "We testify that you are the Messenger of Allah." And Allah knows that you are His Messenger, and Allah testifies that the hypocrites are liars.
MalikWhen the hypocrites come to you, they say: "We bear witness that you are indeed the Messenger of Allah." Allah knows that you are indeed His Messenger, and Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are liars.[1]
QXPWhen the hypocrites come to you (O Prophet), they say, "We bear witness that you are indeed Allah's Messenger." Yes, Allah knows that you are truly His Messenger, and Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are in fact deniers in practice.
Maulana AliWhen the hypocrites come to thee, they say: We bear witness that thou art indeed Allah’s Messenger. And Allah knows thou art indeed His Messenger. And Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are surely liars.
Free MindsWhen the hypocrites come to you they Say: "We bear witness that you are the messenger of God." And God knows that you are His messenger, and God bears witness that the hypocrites are liars.
Qaribullah When the hypocrites come to you they say: 'We bear witness that you are the Messenger of Allah. ' Allah knows that you (Prophet Muhammad) are indeed His Messenger, and Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are truly liars!

George SaleWhen the hypocrites come unto thee, they say, we bear witness that thou art indeed the Apostle of God. And God knoweth that thou art indeed his Apostle: But God beareth witness that the hypocrites are certainly liars.
JM RodwellWHEN the Hypocrites come to thee, they say, "We bear witness that thou art the Sent One of God." God knoweth that thou art His Sent One: but God beareth witness that the HYPOCRITES do surely lie.

AsadWHEN THE HYPOCRITES come unto thee, they say, "We bear witness that thou art indeed God's Apostle!" But God knows that thou art truly His Apostle; and He bears witness that the hypocrites are indeed false [in their declaration of faith].



al-Munafiqun 063:002

63:2 اتخذوا ايمانهم جنة فصدوا عن سبيل الله انهم ساء ماكانوا يعملون


TransliterationIttakhathoo aymanahum junnatan fasaddoo AAan sabeeli Allahi innahum saa ma kanoo yaAAmaloona
LiteralThey took their rights/oaths (as) a cover (shield) so they prevented/obstructed from God's way/path , that they truly are bad/evil/harmful what they were making/doing .

Yusuf AliThey have made their oaths a screen (for their misdeeds): thus they obstruct (men) from the Path of Allah: truly evil are their deeds.
PickthalThey make their faith a pretext so that they may turn (men) from the way of Allah. Verily evil is that which they are wont to do,
Arberry They have taken their oaths as a covering, then they have barred from the way of God. Surely they -- evil are the things they have been doing.
ShakirThey make their oaths a shelter, and thus turn away from Allah's way; surely evil is that which they do.
Sarwar(Muhammad), tell them, "The death from which you run away will certainly approach you. Then you will be returned to the One who knows the unseen and the seen, and He will tell you what you have done".
KhalifaUnder the guise of their apparent faith, they repel the people from the path of GOD. Miserable indeed is what they do.
Hilali/KhanThey have made their oaths a screen (for their hypocrisy). Thus they hinder (men) from the Path of Allah. Verily, evil is what they used to do.
H/K/SaheehThey have taken their oaths as a cover, so they averted [people] from the way of Allah. Indeed, it was evil that they were doing.
MalikThey use their faith as a disguise, and thus debar others from the Way of Allah. Evil is indeed what they do.[2]
QXPThey make their oaths and proclamation of Faith a cover so that they may bar others from the Path of Allah. Miserable indeed is what they do.
Maulana AliThey take shelter under their oaths, thus turning (men) from Allah’s way. Surely evil is that which they do.
Free MindsThey have chosen their oath as a deceit, thus they repel from the path of God. Miserable indeed is what they do.
Qaribullah They have taken their oaths as a cover and barred others from the Path of Allah. Evil is what they have done.

George SaleThey have taken their oaths for a protection, and they turn others aside from the way of God: It is surely evil which they do.
JM RodwellTheir faith have they used as a cloak, and they turn aside others from the way of God! Evil are all their doings.

AsadThey have made their oaths a cover [for their falseness], and thus they turn others away from the Path of God. 1 Evil indeed is all that they are wont to do:

63:3 ذلك بانهم امنوا ثم كفروا فطبع على قلوبهم فهم لايفقهون


TransliterationThalika bi-annahum amanoo thumma kafaroo fatubiAAa AAala quloobihim fahum la yafqahoona
LiteralThat (is) because they (E) believed, then they disbelieved, so (it) was stamped/sealed on their hearts/minds , so they do not understand/learn .

Yusuf AliThat is because they believed, then they rejected Faith: So a seal was set on their hearts: therefore they understand not.
PickthalThat is because they believed, then disbelieved, therefore their hearts are sealed so that they understand not.
Arberry That is because they have believed, then they have disbelieved; therefore a seal has been set on their hearts, and they do not understand.
ShakirThat is because they believe, then disbelieve, so a seal is set upon their hearts so that they do not understand.
SarwarBelievers, on Friday when the call for prayer is made, try to attend prayer (remembering God) and leave off all business. This would be better for you if only you knew it.
KhalifaThis is because they believed, then disbelieved. Hence, their minds are blocked; they do not understand.
Hilali/KhanThat is because they believed, then disbelieved, therefore their hearts are sealed, so they understand not.
H/K/SaheehThat is because they believed, and then they disbelieved; so their hearts were sealed over, and they do not understand.
MalikThis is because they believed and then renounced their faith. Their hearts are sealed, therefore, they are devoid of understanding.[3]
QXPThis, because they profess (before you) that they have believed whereas afterward (among their folk) they reject the Truth. And so a seal has been set upon their hearts, thus they understand not. (Variation between utterance and action hampers the power of reasoning within human psyche (61:2-5)).
Maulana AliThat is because they believed, then disbelieved; thus their hearts are sealed, so they understand not.
Free MindsThat is because they believed, then disbelieved. Hence, their hearts are sealed; they do not understand.
Qaribullah That is because they believed, then disbelieved, because of this a seal has been set upon their hearts so they are unable to understand.

George SaleThis is testified of them, because they believed, and afterwards became unbelievers: Wherefore a seal is set on their hearts, and they shall not understand.
JM RodwellThis, for that they believed, then became unbelievers!Therefore hath a seal been set upon their hearts, and they understand not.

Asadthis, because [they profess that] they have attained to faith, whereas 2 [inwardly] they deny the truth - and so, a seal has been set on their hearts so that they can no longer understand [what is true and what false].



al-Munafiqun 063:004

63:4 واذا رايتهم تعجبك اجسامهم وان يقولوا تسمع لقولهم كانهم خشب مسندة يحسبون كل صيحة عليهم هم العدو فاحذرهم قاتلهم الله انى يؤفكون


TransliterationWa-itha raaytahum tuAAjibuka ajsamuhum wa-in yaqooloo tasmaAA liqawlihim kaannahum khushubun musannadatun yahsaboona kulla sayhatin AAalayhim humu alAAaduwwu faihtharhum qatalahumu Allahu anna yu/fakoona
LiteralAnd if you saw them , their bodies pleases/marvels you, and if they say (talk), you hear/listen to their statement/word as if they are supported wood (logs), they think/suppose each/ every loud strong cry/torture raid is on (against) them, they are the enemy, so be warned/cautious (of) them , God fought them , (so) where/how (do) they be turned away ?

Yusuf AliWhen thou lookest at them, their exteriors please thee; and when they speak, thou listenest to their words. They are as (worthless as hollow) pieces of timber propped up, (unable to stand on their own). They think that every cry is against them. They are the enemies; so beware of them. The curse of Allah be on them! How are they deluded (away from the Truth)!
PickthalAnd when thou seest them their figures please thee; and if they speak thou givest ear unto their speech. (They are) as though they were blocks of wood in striped cloaks. They deem every shout to be against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. Allah confound them! How they are perverted!
Arberry When thou seest them, their bodies please thee; but when they speak, thou listenest to their speech, and it is as they were propped-up timbers. They think every cry is against them. They are the enemy; so beware of them. God assail them! How they are perverted!
ShakirAnd when you see them, their persons will please you, and If they speak, you will listen to their speech; (they are) as if they were big pieces of wood clad with garments; they think every cry to be against them. They are the enemy, therefore beware of them; may Allah destroy them, whence are they turned back?
SarwarWhen the prayer ends, disperse through the land and seek the favor of God. Remember Him often so that perhaps you will have everlasting happiness.
KhalifaWhen you see them, you may be impressed by their looks. And when they speak, you may listen to their eloquence. They are like standing logs. They think that every call is intended against them. These are the real enemies; beware of them. GOD condemns them; they have deviated
Hilali/KhanAnd when you look at them, their bodies please you; and when they speak, you listen to their words. They are as blocks of wood propped up. They think that every cry is against them. They are the enemies, so beware of them. May Allah curse them! How are they denying (or deviating from) the Right Path.
H/K/SaheehAnd when you see them, their forms please you, and if they speak, you listen to their speech. [They are] as if they were pieces of wood propped up they think that every shout is against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?
MalikWhen you see them, their good stature pleases you; and when they speak, you listen to what they say. Yet they are as worthless as hollow pieces of propped up timber. Every shout they hear, they think it to be against them. They are your enemies, so guard yourselves against them. May Allah destroy them! How perverse they are![4]
QXPNow when you see them, their looks may impress you. And if they speak, you are inclined to listen to their speech. But they are like wooden logs propped up. (Empty of inner strength unable to stand on their own feet). They think that every call is directed against them. These are the real enemies, so beware of them. Allah condemns them. They are far deviated.
Maulana AliAnd when thou seest them, their persons please thee; and if they speak, thou listenest to their speech. They are like pieces of wood, clad with garments. They think every cry to be against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allah destroy them! How they are turned back!
Free MindsAnd when you see them, you are impressed by their physical stature; and when they speak, you listen to their eloquence. They are like blocks of wood propped-up. They think that every call is intended for them. These are the enemies, so beware of them. May God condemn them; they have deviated.
Qaribullah When you see them their bodies please you, but when they speak and you listen to their sayings, they are like proppedup timber. Every shout (they hear) they take it to be against them. They are the enemy be wary of them. Allah kills them! How perverse they are!

George SaleWhen thou beholdest them, their persons please thee: And if they speak, thou hearest their discourse with delight. They resemble pieces of timber set up against a wall. They imagine every shout to be against them. They are enemies; wherefore beware of them. God curse them: How are they turned aside from the truth!
JM RodwellWhen thou seest them, their persons make thee marvel; and if they speak, thou listenest with pleasure to their discourse. Like timbers are they leaning against a wall! They think that every shout is against them. They are enemies-Beware of them then-God do

AsadNow when thou seest them, their outward appearance may please thee; and when they speak, thou art inclined to lend ear to what they say. 4 [But though they may seem as sure of themselves] as if they were timbers [firmly] propped up, they think that every shout is [directed] against them. They are the [real] enemies [of all faith], so beware of them. [They deserve the imprecation,] "May God destroy them!" 5 How perverted are their minds!



al-Munafiqun 063:005

63:5 واذا قيل لهم تعالوا يستغفر لكم رسول الله لووا رؤوسهم ورايتهم يصدون وهم مستكبرون


TransliterationWa-itha qeela lahum taAAalaw yastaghfir lakum rasoolu Allahi lawwaw ruoosahum waraaytahum yasuddoona wahum mustakbiroona
LiteralAnd when/if (it) was said to them: "Come, God's messenger asks for forgiveness for you." They twisted/turned/ bent their heads, and you saw them preventing/obstructing , and they are arrogant.

Yusuf AliAnd when it is said to them, "Come, the Messenger of Allah will pray for your forgiveness", they turn aside their heads, and thou wouldst see them turning away their faces in arrogance.
PickthalAnd when it is said unto them: Come! The messenger of Allah will ask forgiveness for you! they avert their faces and thou seest them turning away, disdainful.
Arberry And when it is said to them, 'Come now, and God's Messenger will ask forgiveness for you,' they twist their heads, and thou seest them turning their faces away, waxing proud.
ShakirAnd when it is said to them: Come, the Messenger of Allah will ask forgiveness for you, they turn back their heads and you may see them turning away while they are big with pride.
SarwarWhen they see some merchandise or some sport, they rush towards it and leave you alone standing. Say, "(God's rewards for good deeds) are better than merriment or merchandise; God is the best Sustainer".
KhalifaWhen they are told, "Come let the messenger of GOD pray for your forgiveness," they mockingly turn their heads, and you see them repel others and act arrogantly.
Hilali/KhanAnd when it is said to them: "Come, so that the Messenger of Allah may ask forgiveness from Allah for you", they turn aside their heads, and you would see them turning away their faces in pride.
H/K/SaheehAnd when it is said to them, "Come, the Messenger of Allah will ask forgiveness for you," they turn their heads aside and you see them evading while they are arrogant.
MalikWhen it is said to them: "Come, the Messenger of Allah will pray for your forgiveness," they shake their heads and you see them turning away with arrogance.[5]
QXPAnd when it is said to them, "Come! Allah's Messenger will ask for your forgiveness", they shake their heads, and you see them pause, and then draw back in false pride.
Maulana AliAnd when it is said to them: Come, the Messenger of Allah will ask forgiveness for you, they turn away their heads and thou seest them hindering (others), and they are big with pride.
Free MindsAnd if they are told: "Come and let the messenger of God ask for your forgiveness," they turn aside their heads, and you see them walking away in pride.
Qaribullah When it is said to them: 'Come, the Messenger of Allah will ask forgiveness for you, ' they turn their heads in pride and you see them go away.

George SaleAnd when it is said unto them, come, that the Apostle of God may ask pardon for you; they turn away their heads, and thou seest them retire big with disdain.
JM RodwellAnd when it is said to them, "Come, the Apostle of God will ask pardon for you," they turn their heads aside, and thou seest them withdraw in their pride.

Asadfor, when they are told, "Come, the Apostle of God will pray [unto God] that you be forgiven", they turn their heads away, and thou canst see how they draw back in their false pride.



al-Munafiqun 063:006

63:6 سواء عليهم استغفرت لهم ام لم تستغفر لهم لن يغفر الله لهم ان الله لايهدي القوم الفاسقين


TransliterationSawaon AAalayhim astaghfarta lahum am lam tastaghfir lahum lan yaghfira Allahu lahum inna Allaha la yahdee alqawma alfasiqeena
Literal(It is) equal/alike on (for) them (if) you asked for forgiveness for them, or you did not ask for forgiveness for them, God will never/not forgive for them, that truly God does not guide the nation, the debauchers .

Yusuf AliIt is equal to them whether thou pray for their forgiveness or not. Allah will not forgive them. Truly Allah guides not rebellious transgressors.
PickthalWhether thou ask forgiveness for them or ask not forgiveness for them is all one for them; Allah will not forgive them. Lo! Allah guideth not the evil-living folk.
Arberry Equal it is for them, whether thou askest forgiveness for them or thou askest not forgiveness for them; God will never forgive them. God guides not the people of the ungodly.
ShakirIt is alike to them whether you beg forgiveness for them or do not beg forgiveness for them; Allah will never forgive them; surely Allah does not guide the transgressing people.
SarwarWhen the hypocrites come to you, they say, "We testify that you are the Messenger of God." God knows that you are His Messenger. God testifies that they hypocrites are liars.
KhalifaIt is the same for them, whether you pray for their forgiveness, or not pray for their forgiveness; GOD will not forgive them. For GOD does not guide the wicked people.
Hilali/KhanIt is equal to them whether you (Muhammad SAW) ask forgiveness or ask not forgiveness for them. Verily, Allah guides not the people who are the Fasiqeen (rebellious, disobedient to Allah) .
H/K/SaheehIt is all the same for them whether you ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them; never will Allah forgive them. Indeed, Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.
MalikIt is the same, whether you pray for their forgiveness or not, Allah is not going to forgive them. Surely Allah does not guide the transgressors.[6]
QXPIt is the same for them whether you pray for their forgiveness, or not pray for their forgiveness. Allah will not forgive them. For, behold, Allah does not guide those who keep drifting away from reason.
Maulana AliIt is alike to them whether thou ask forgiveness for them or ask not forgiveness for them -- Allah will never forgive them. Surely Allah guides not the transgressing people.
Free MindsIt is the same for them, whether you ask for their forgiveness, or do not ask for their forgiveness; God will not forgive them. For God does not guide the wicked people.
Qaribullah It is equal for them whether you ask for their forgiveness or you do not ask for their forgiveness, Allah will not forgive them. Allah does not guide the evildoers.

George SaleIt shall be equal unto them, whether thou ask pardon for them, or do not ask pardon for them; God will by no means forgive them: For God directeth not the prevaricating people.
JM RodwellAlike shall it be to them whether thou ask forgiveness for them, or ask it not. By no means will God forgive them: God hath no guidance for a perverse people.

AsadAs for them it is all the same whether thou dost pray that they be forgiven or dost not pray for them: God will nor forgive them - for, behold, God does not bestow His guidance upon such iniquitous folk.



al-Munafiqun 063:007

63:7 هم الذين يقولون لاتنفقوا على من عند رسول الله حتى ينفضوا ولله خزائن السماوات والارض ولكن المنافقين لايفقهون


TransliterationHumu allatheena yaqooloona la tunfiqoo AAala man AAinda rasooli Allahi hatta yanfaddoo walillahi khaza-inu alssamawati waal-ardi walakinna almunafiqeena la yafqahoona
LiteralThey are those who say: "Do not spend on whom (is) at God's messenger, until they scatter/separate And to God (are) the skies'/space's and the earth's/Planet Earth's safes/storages (treasures), and but the hypocrites do not understand/learn .

Yusuf AliThey are the ones who say, "Spend nothing on those who are with Allah's Messenger, to the end that they may disperse (and quit Medina)." But to Allah belong the treasures of the heavens and the earth; but the Hypocrites understand not.
PickthalThey it is who say: Spend not on behalf of those (who dwell) with Allah's messenger that they may disperse (and go away from you); when Allah's are the treasures of the heavens and the earth; but the hypocrites comprehend not.
Arberry Those are they that say, 'Do not expend on them that are with God's Messenger until they scatter off'; yet unto God belong the treasuries of the heavens and of the earth, but the hypocrites do not understand.
ShakirThey it is who say: Do not spend upon those who are with the Messenger of Allah until they break up. And Allah's are the treasures of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do not understand.
SarwarThey have chosen their oaths as a shield for them to obstruct others from the way of God. How terrible is what they do!
KhalifaThey are the ones who say, "Do not give any money to those who followed the messenger of GOD, perhaps they abandon him!" However, GOD possesses the treasures of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do not comprehend.
Hilali/KhanThey are the ones who say: "Spend not on those who are with Allahs Messenger, until they desert him." And to Allah belong the treasures of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites comprehend not.
H/K/SaheehThey are the ones who say, "Do not spend on those who are with the Messenger of Allah until they disband." And to Allah belongs the depositories of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do not understand.
MalikThey are the same people who say: "Do not give anything to those who follow the Messenger of Allah until they have deserted him." To Allah belong the treasures of the heavens and the earth; but the hypocrites cannot understand.[7]
QXPThey it is who say, "Spend nothing on those with Allah's Messenger, so that they disperse (and leave the city)." However, to Allah belong the Treasures of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites comprehend not. ('Ansar' the Muslim residents of Madinah were supporting the needy 'Muhajirin' or immigrants from Makkah).
Maulana AliThey it is who say: Spend not on those who are with the Messenger of Allah that they may disperse. And Allah’s are the treasures of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites understand not.
Free MindsThey are the ones who Say: "Do not spend on those who are with the messenger of God, unless they abandon him!" And to God belongs the treasures of the heavens and the Earth, but the hypocrites do not comprehend.
Qaribullah It is they that say: 'Spend nothing on those who follow the Messenger of Allah until they disperse. ' Yet to Allah belong the treasuries of heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do not understand.

George SaleThese are the men who say to the inhabitants of Medina, do not bestow any thing on the refugees who are with the Apostle of God, that they may be obliged to separate from him. Whereas unto God belong the stores of heaven and earth: But the hypocrites do not understand.
JM RodwellThese are they who say to you of Medina, "Spend not aught upon those who are with the Apostle of God, and they will be forced to quit him." Yet the treasures of the Heavens and of the Earth are God's! But the Hypocrites have no understanding.

AsadIt is they who say [to their compatriots 8], "Do not spend anything on those who are with God's Apostle, so that they [may be forced to] leave." 9 However, unto God belong the treasures of the heavens and the earth: but this truth the hypocrites cannot grasp.



al-Munafiqun 063:008

63:8 يقولون لئن رجعنا الى المدينة ليخرجن الاعز منها الاذل ولله العزة ولرسوله وللمؤمنين ولكن المنافقين لايعلمون


TransliterationYaqooloona la-in rajaAAna ila almadeenati layukhrijanna al-aAAazzu minha al-athalla walillahi alAAizzatu walirasoolihi walilmu/mineena walakinna almunafiqeena la yaAAlamoona
LiteralThey say: "If (E) we returned to the city/town, the more dignified/honoured will bring out (exile) the most humiliated/weakest ." And to God (is) the glory/might/power , and to His messenger, and to the believers, and but the hypocrites do not know.

Yusuf AliThey say, "If we return to Medina, surely the more honourable (element) will expel therefrom the meaner." But honour belongs to Allah and His Messenger, and to the Believers; but the Hypocrites know not.
PickthalThey say: Surely, if we return to Al-Madinah the mightier will soon drive out the weaker; when might belongeth to Allah and to His messenger and to the believers; but the hypocrites know not.
Arberry They say, 'If we return to the City, the mightier ones of it will expel the more abased'; yet glory belongs unto God, and unto His Messenger and the believers, but the hypocrites do not know it.
ShakirThey say: If we return to Medina, the mighty will surely drive out the meaner therefrom; and to Allah belongs the might and to His Messenger and to the believers, but the hypocrites do not know.
SarwarThis is because they accepted the faith and then rejected it. God has sealed their hearts, thus, they do not have any understanding.
KhalifaThey say, "If we go back to the city, the powerful therein will evict the weak (and we will be victimized)." (They should know that) all dignity belongs to GOD and His messenger, and the believers. However, the hypocrites do not know.
Hilali/KhanThey (hyprocrites) say: "If we return to Al-Madinah, indeed the more honourable (Abdoollah bin Ubai bin Salul, the chief of hyprocrites at AlMadinah) will expel therefrom the meaner (i.e. Allahs Messenger SAW)." But honour, power and glory belong to Allah, His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and to the believers, but the hypocrites know not.
H/K/SaheehThey say, "If we return to al-Madinah, the more honored [for power] will surely expel therefrom the more humble." And to Allah belongs [all] honor, and to His Messenger, and to the believers, but the hypocrites do not know.
MalikThey say: "When we return to Medina, the honorable ones will soon drive out the mean ones." But the honor belongs to Allah, to His Messenger and to the believers; but the hypocrites do not know.[8]
QXPAnd they say (upon returning from Banu Mustaliq in 5 A.H.), "Indeed, when we return to Al-Madinah, we the honored ones will expel there from those contemptible ones." However, all honor belongs to Allah and to His Messenger and those who believe. But the hypocrites know not.
Maulana AliThey say: If we return to Madinah, the mightier will surely drive out the meaner therefrom. And might belongs to Allah and His Messenger and the believers, but the hypocrites know not.
Free MindsThey Say: "When we go back to the city, the noble therein will evict the lowly." But all nobility belongs to God and His messenger, and the believers. However, the hypocrites do not know.
Qaribullah They say: 'If we return to the City, the strong will expel the humiliated. ' But the might belongs to Allah, and His Messenger and the believers, but the hypocrites do not know.

George SaleThey say, verily, if we return to Medina, the worthier shall expel thence the meander. Whereas superior worth belongeth unto God, and his Apostle, and the true believers: But the hypocrites know it not.
JM RodwellThey say: "If we return to the city, the mightier will assuredly drive out the weaker from it." But might is with God, and with the Apostle, and with the Faithful! Yet the Hypocrites understand not.

Asad[And] they say, "Indeed, when we return to the City 10 [we,] the ones most worthy of honour will surely drive out therefrom those most contemptible ones!" However, all honour belongs to God, and [thus] to His Apostle and those who believe [in God]: but of this the hypocrites are not aware.



al-Munafiqun 063:009

63:9 ياايها الذين امنوا لاتلهكم اموالكم ولااولادكم عن ذكر الله ومن يفعل ذلك فاولئك هم الخاسرون


TransliterationYa ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tulhikum amwalukum wala awladukum AAan thikri Allahi waman yafAAal thalika faola-ika humu alkhasiroona
LiteralYou, you those who believed, (let) not your properties/possessions/wealths and nor your children distract/preoccupy you from mentioning/remembering God, and who makes/does that, so those, they are the losers/misguided .

Yusuf AliO ye who believe! Let not your riches or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. If any act thus, the loss is their own.
PickthalO ye who believe! Let not your wealth nor your children distract you from remembrance of Allah. Those who do so, they are the losers.
Arberry O believers, let not your possessions neither your children divert you from God's remembrance; whoso does that, they are the losers.
ShakirO you who believe! let not your wealth, or your children, divert you from the remembrance of Allah; and whoever does that, these are the losers.
SarwarTheir physical appearance attracts you when you see them and when they speak, you carefully listen to them. In fact, they are like propped up hollow trunks of wood (They are so cowardly) they think that every cry which they hear is against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May God condemn them. Where are they turning to, leaving behind the Truth?.
KhalifaO you who believe, do not be distracted by your money and your children from remembering GOD. Those who do this are the losers.
Hilali/KhanO you who believe! Let not your properties or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. And whosoever does that, then they are the losers.
H/K/SaheehO you who have believed, let not your wealth and your children divert you from remembrance of Allah. And whoever does that then those are the losers.
MalikO believers! Let neither your riches nor your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. Those who will do so, it is they who shall be the real losers.[9]
QXPO You who have chosen to be graced with belief! Let not your wealth nor your children distract you from the Reminder of Allah. For, any who does so, it is they, they who are the losers.

al-Munafiqun 063:010

63:10 وانفقوا من مارزقناكم من قبل ان ياتي احدكم الموت فيقول رب لولا اخرتني الى اجل قريب فاصدق واكن من الصالحين


TransliterationWaanfiqoo min ma razaqnakum min qabli an ya/tiya ahadakumu almawtu fayaqoola rabbi lawla akhkhartanee ila ajalin qareebin faassaddaqa waakun mina alssaliheena
LiteralAnd spend from what We provided for you, from before that the death/lifelessness comes (to) one of you, so he says: "My Lord, if only You delayed me to a near/close term/time, so I will give charity and I will be from correct, righteous."

Yusuf Aliand spend something (in charity) out of the substance which We have bestowed on you, before Death should come to any of you and he should say, "O my Lord! why didst Thou not give me respite for a little while? I should then have given (largely) in charity, and I should have been one of the doers of good".
PickthalAnd spend of that wherewith We have provided you before death cometh unto one of you and he saith: My Lord! If only thou wouldst reprieve me for a little while, then I would give alms and be among the righteous.
Arberry Expend of what We have provided you before that death comes upon one of you and he says, 'O my Lord, if only Thou wouldst defer me unto a near term, so that I may make freewill offering, and so I may become one of the righteous.'
ShakirAnd spend out of what We have given you before death comes to one of you, so that he should say: My Lord! why didst Thou not respite me to a near term, so that I should have given alms and been of the doers of good deeds?
SarwarWhen they are told, "Come and let the Prophet of God seek forgiveness for you," they shake their heads and you can see them arrogantly turning away.
KhalifaYou shall give from our provisions to you before death comes to you, then you say, "My Lord, if only You could delay this for a short while! I would then be charitable and join the righteous!"
Hilali/KhanAnd spend (in charity) of that with which We have provided you, before death comes to one of you and he says: "My Lord! If only You would give me respite for a little while (i.e. return to the worldly life), then I should give Sadaqah (i.e. Zakat) of my wealth , and be among the righteous (i.e. perform Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah)).
H/K/SaheehAnd spend [in the way of Allah] from what We have provided you before death approaches one of you and he says, "My Lord, if only You would delay me for a brief term so I would give charity and be among the righteous."
MalikSpend, in charity and in the Cause of Allah, out of the sustenance which We have bestowed on you before that time when death will come to anyone of you, and he shall say: "O my Lord! If only you would reprieve me for a little while then I would give out everything in charity, and be among the righteous."[10]
QXPAnd spend on others of what We have provided you with, before death comes to one of you. And he then says, "My Lord! If only You would delay this for a short while, so that I could give in charity and be among the righteous."

AsadAnd spend on others out of what We have provided for you as sustenance, 12 ere there come a time when death approaches any of you, and he then says, "O my Sustainer! If only Thou wouldst grant me a delay for a short while, 13 so that I could give in charity and be among the righteous!"



al-Munafiqun 063:011

63:11 ولن يؤخر الله نفسا اذا جاء اجلها والله خبير بما تعملون


TransliterationWalan yu-akhkhira Allahu nafsan itha jaa ajaluha waAllahu khabeerun bima taAAmaloona
LiteralAnd God will never/not delay a self if its term/time came, and God (is) expert/experienced with what you make/do

Yusuf AliBut to no soul will Allah grant respite when the time appointed (for it) has come; and Allah is well acquainted with (all) that ye do.
PickthalBut Allah reprieveth no soul when its term cometh, and Allah is Informed of what ye do.
Arberry But God will never defer any soul when its term comes. And God is aware of the things you do.
ShakirAnd Allah does not respite a soul when its appointed term has come, and Allah is Aware of what you do.
SarwarIt is all the same whether you seek forgiveness for them or not; God will never forgive them. God does not guide the evil-doing people.
KhalifaGOD never delays the appointed time of death for any soul. GOD is fully Cognizant of everything you do.
Hilali/KhanAnd Allah grants respite to none when his appointed time (death) comes. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.
H/K/SaheehBut never will Allah delay a soul when its time has come. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do. 64-Surah At-Taghabun Bismillahir Raúmanir-Raúeem
MalikBut Allah reprieves no soul when its term comes to an end. Allah is well aware of all your actions.[11]
QXPBut never does Allah delay to a person when his term has come. And Allah is fully Aware of what you have accomplished in life.

Qaribullah But Allah will never defer any soul when its term comes. Allah is Aware of what you do.
