| Transliteration | Wama yudreeka laAAallahu yazzakka | 
| Literal | And what makes you know/informs you maybe/perhaps he, he purifies/corrects (himself). | 
| Yusuf Ali | But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- | 
| Pickthal | What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) |
