| Transliteration | Fathalika allathee yaduAAAAu alyateema |
| Literal | So that (is) who turns down/repels the orphan . |
| Yusuf Ali | Then such is the (man) who repulses the orphan (with harshness), |
| Pickthal | That is he who repelleth the orphan, |
| Arberry | That is he who repulses the orphan |
| Shakir | That is the one who treats the orphan with harshness, |
| Sarwar | It is he who turns down the orphans |
| Khalifa | That is the one who mistreats the orphans. |
