| Transliteration | Waaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin yatasaaloona |
| Literal | And some of them approached/came on (to) some (each other), they ask/question each other. |
| Yusuf Ali | They will advance to each other, engaging in mutual enquiry. |
| Pickthal | And some of them draw near unto others, questioning, |
| Arberry | They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. |
| Shakir | And some of them shall advance towards others questioning each other. |
| Sarwar | They will turn to one another ask questions, |
| Khalifa | They will meet each other and reminisce among themselves. |
| Hilali/Khan | And some of them draw near to others, questioning. |
