5:96 احل لكم صيد البحر وطعامه متاعا لكم وللسيارة وحرم عليكم صيد البر مادمتم حرما واتقوا الله الذي اليه تحشرون | |
Transliteration | Ohilla lakum saydu albahri wataAAamuhu mataAAan lakum walilssayyarati wahurrima AAalaykum saydu albarri ma dumtum huruman waittaqoo Allaha allathee ilayhi tuhsharoona |
Literal | Permitted/allowed for you is the sea's hunting/fishing, and its food, enjoyment to you and to the caravan/people often moving , and forbidden on you (is) the shore's/land's hunting/trapping as long as you continued in compliance with pilgrimage prohibitions , and fear and obey God, who to Him you are being gathered. |
Yusuf Ali | Lawful to you is the pursuit of water-game and its use for food,- for the benefit of yourselves and those who travel; but forbidden is the pursuit of land-game;- as long as ye are in the sacred precincts or in pilgrim garb. And fear Allah, to Whom ye shall be gathered back. |
Pickthal | To hunt and to eat the fish of the sea is made lawful for you, a provision for you and for seafarers; but to hunt on land is forbidden you so long as ye are on the pilgrimage. Be mindful of your duty to Allah, unto Whom ye will be gathered. |
