58:9 ياايها الذين امنوا اذا تناجيتم فلا تتناجوا بالاثم والعدوان ومعصية الرسول وتناجوا بالبر والتقوى واتقوا الله الذي اليه تحشرون | |
Transliteration | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha tanajaytum fala tatanajaw bial-ithmi waalAAudwani wamaAAsiyati alrrasooli watanajaw bialbirri waalttaqwa waittaqoo Allaha allathee ilayhi tuhsharoona |
Literal | You, you those who believed, if you interchanged pleasurable conversation, so do not interchange pleasurable conversation with the sin/crime and the transgression/aggression and disobedience (to) the messenger, and (but) interchange pleasurable conversation with the righteousness and the fear and obedience (of God), and fear and obey God, who to Him you are being gathered. |
Yusuf Ali | O ye who believe! When ye hold secret counsel, do it not for iniquity and hostility, and disobedience to the Prophet; but do it for righteousness and self-restraint; and fear Allah, to Whom ye shall be brought back. |
Pickthal | O ye who believe! When ye conspire together, conspire not together for crime and wrongdoing and disobedience toward the messenger, but conspire together for righteousness and piety, and keep your duty toward Allah, unto whom ye will be gathered. |
