| 8:53 ذلك بان الله لم يك مغيرا نعمة انعمها على قوم حتى يغيروا مابانفسهم وان الله سميع عليم | |
| Transliteration | Thalika bi-anna Allaha lam yaku mughayyiran niAAmatan anAAamaha AAala qawmin hatta yughayyiroo ma bi-anfusihim waanna Allaha sameeAAun AAaleemun |
| Literal | That (is) with that God is/was not changing a blessing/goodness He blessed/comforted and eased it on a nation, until they change what (is) with themselves, and that God (is) hearing/listening, knowledgeable. |
| Yusuf Ali | "Because Allah will never change the grace which He hath bestowed on a people until they change what is in their (own) souls: and verily Allah is He Who heareth and knoweth (all things)." |
