8:53 ذلك بان الله لم يك مغيرا نعمة انعمها على قوم حتى يغيروا مابانفسهم وان الله سميع عليم | |
Transliteration | Thalika bi-anna Allaha lam yaku mughayyiran niAAmatan anAAamaha AAala qawmin hatta yughayyiroo ma bi-anfusihim waanna Allaha sameeAAun AAaleemun |
Literal | That (is) with that God is/was not changing a blessing/goodness He blessed/comforted and eased it on a nation, until they change what (is) with themselves, and that God (is) hearing/listening, knowledgeable. |
Yusuf Ali | "Because Allah will never change the grace which He hath bestowed on a people until they change what is in their (own) souls: and verily Allah is He Who heareth and knoweth (all things)." |
Pickthal | That is because Allah never changeth the grace He hath bestowed on any people until they first change that which is in their hearts, and (that is) because Allah is Hearer, Knower. |
