Transliteration | Fama aghna AAanhum ma kanoo yaksiboona |
Literal | So what they were gaining/acquiring did not enrich/suffice them from them (was of no benefit to them). |
Yusuf Ali | And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)! |
Pickthal | And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. |
Arberry | that they earned did not avail them. |
Shakir | And what they earned did not avail them. |
Sarwar | Out of what they had gained, nothing proved to be of any benefit to them. |
Khalifa | What they hoarded did not help them. |
Hilali/Khan | And all that which they used to earn availed them not. |

Malik | We have not created the Heavens and the Earth, and all that lies between them but to manifest the Truth.[84] |
