an-Nahl (The Bee) 16:100

16:100 انما سلطانه على الذين يتولونه والذين هم به مشركون


TransliterationInnama sultanuhu AAala allatheena yatawallawnahu waallatheena hum bihi mushrikoona
LiteralBut his power/control (is) on those who follow him, and those whom (are) with him, (they are) sharing/taking partners (as gods).

Yusuf AliHis authority is over those only, who take him as patron and who join partners with Allah.
PickthalHis power is only over those who make a friend of him, and those who ascribe partners unto Him (Allah).

QXPSatan's power is only over those who befriend him. Such are Mushrikoon (idol worshipers) since they worship their own desire instead of God.
