| 16:107 ذلك بانهم استحبوا الحياة الدنيا على الاخرة وان الله لايهدي القوم الكافرين | |
| Transliteration | Thalika bi-annahumu istahabboo alhayata alddunya AAala al-akhirati waanna Allaha la yahdee alqawma alkafireena |
| Literal | That (is) because they (E), they loved/liked the life the present world/worldly life more/over the end (other life), and that God does not guide the nation, the disbelieving. |
| Yusuf Ali | This because they love the life of this world better than the Hereafter: and Allah will not guide those who reject Faith. |
| Pickthal | That is because they have chosen the life of the world rather than the Hereafter, and because Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk. |
| Arberry | that, because they have preferred the present life over the world to come, and that God guides not the people of the unbelievers. |
