45:9 واذا علم من اياتنا شيئا اتخذها هزوا اولئك لهم عذاب مهين | |
Transliteration | Wa-itha AAalima min ayatina shay-an ittakhathaha huzuwan ola-ika lahum AAathabun muheenun |
Literal | And if he knew a thing from Our evidences/verses he took it mockingly/making fun, those for them (is) a humiliating/disgracing torture. |
Yusuf Ali | And when he learns something of Our Signs, he takes them in jest: for such there will be a humiliating Penalty. |
Pickthal | And when he knoweth aught of Our revelations he maketh it a jest. For such there is a shameful doom. |
Arberry | And when he knows anything of Our signs, he takes them in mockery; those for them awaits a humbling chastisement. |
Shakir | And when he comes to know of any of Our communications, he takes it for a jest; these it is that shall have abasing chastisement. |
