45:8 يسمع ايات الله تتلى عليه ثم يصر مستكبرا كان لم يسمعها فبشره بعذاب اليم | |
Transliteration | YasmaAAu ayati Allahi tutla AAalayhi thumma yusirru mustakbiran kaan lam yasmaAAha fabashshirhu biAAathabin aleemin |
Literal | He hears/listens (to) God's evidences/verses being read/recited on (to) him, then he persists/insists arrogantly as though he did not hear/listen (to) it, so announce good news to him with a painful torture. |
Yusuf Ali | He hears the Signs of Allah rehearsed to him, yet is obstinate and lofty, as if he had not heard them: then announce to him a Penalty Grievous! |
