| Transliteration | Waqaloo in hiya illa hayatuna alddunya wama nahnu bimabAAootheena |
| Literal | And they said: "That truly it is except our life the present life/worldly life, we are not with being resurrected/revived." |
| Yusuf Ali | And they (sometimes) say: "There is nothing except our life on this earth, and never shall we be raised up again." |
