63:2 اتخذوا ايمانهم جنة فصدوا عن سبيل الله انهم ساء ماكانوا يعملون | |
Transliteration | Ittakhathoo aymanahum junnatan fasaddoo AAan sabeeli Allahi innahum saa ma kanoo yaAAmaloona |
Literal | They took their rights/oaths (as) a cover (shield) so they prevented/obstructed from God's way/path , that they truly are bad/evil/harmful what they were making/doing . |
Yusuf Ali | They have made their oaths a screen (for their misdeeds): thus they obstruct (men) from the Path of Allah: truly evil are their deeds. |
Pickthal | They make their faith a pretext so that they may turn (men) from the way of Allah. Verily evil is that which they are wont to do, |
Arberry | They have taken their oaths as a covering, then they have barred from the way of God. Surely they -- evil are the things they have been doing. |
Shakir | They make their oaths a shelter, and thus turn away from Allah's way; surely evil is that which they do. |
Sarwar | (Muhammad), tell them, "The death from which you run away will certainly approach you. Then you will be returned to the One who knows the unseen and the seen, and He will tell you what you have done". |
