| 7:39 وقالت اولاهم لاخراهم فماكان لكم علينا من فضل فذوقوا العذاب بما كنتم تكسبون | |
| Transliteration | Waqalat oolahum li-okhrahum fama kana lakum AAalayna min fadlin fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum taksiboona |
| Literal | And their first said to their last: "So (there) was/is not was for you on us from grace/favour/blessing, so taste/experience the torture because (of) what you were gaining/acquiring ." |
| Yusuf Ali | Then the first will say to the last: "See then! No advantage have ye over us; so taste ye of the penalty for all that ye did !" |
| Pickthal | And the first of them saith unto the last of them: Ye were no whit better than us, so taste the doom for what ye used to earn. |
| Arberry | The first of them shall say to the last of them, 'You have no superiority over us, then; so taste the chastisement for what you have been earning.' |
