| Transliteration | Waallawi istaqamoo AAala alttareeqati laasqaynahum maan ghadaqan |
| Literal | 'And that if they became straight/direct on the way/path , we would have given them drink (from) water plentifully/abundantly.' |
| Yusuf Ali | (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. |
| Pickthal | If they (the idolaters) tread the right path, We shall give them to drink of water in abundance |
