| Transliteration | Thalika alyawmu alhaqqu faman shaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi maaban |
| Literal | That (is) the day/time, the real/true/just , so who willed/wanted took/received to his Lord a return. |
| Yusuf Ali | That Day will be the sure Reality: Therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) return to his Lord! |
| Pickthal | That is the True Day. So whoso will should seek recourse unto his Lord. |
| Arberry | That is the true day; so whosoever wills takes unto his Lord a resort. |
| Shakir | That is the sure day, so whoever desires may take refuge with his Lord. |
