Yusuf Ali | And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. |
Pickthal | And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. |
Arberry | and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. |
Shakir | And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. |

Literal | The skies'/space's and the earth's/Planet Earth's and what (is) between them (B)'s Lord, the merciful, they do not own/possess from Him an address/conversation (they can not talk to Him). |

Literal | A day/time the Soul/Spirit and the angels stand (in) a row/arranged , they do not speak/talk ,except who the merciful permitted/allowed for him, and he said right/correct. |

Literal | That (is) the day/time, the real/true/just , so who willed/wanted took/received to his Lord a return. |

Yusuf Ali | That Day will be the sure Reality: Therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) return to his Lord! |
Pickthal | That is the True Day. So whoso will should seek recourse unto his Lord. |
Arberry | That is the true day; so whosoever wills takes unto his Lord a resort. |
Shakir | That is the sure day, so whoever desires may take refuge with his Lord. |

QXP | That Day will be the Moment of Truth. So whoever wills, let him take the path that leads toward his Sustainer. |

Transliteration | Inna antharnakum AAathaban qareeban yawma yanthuru almaro ma qaddamat yadahu wayaqoolu alkafiru ya laytanee kuntu turaban |
Literal | We (E), We warned/gave you notice of (a) near/close torture, a day/time the human/man looks (to) what his two hands advanced/undertook , and the disbeliever says: "Oh, if only I was dust/earth."454 |

Yusuf Ali | Verily, We have warned you of a Penalty near, the Day when man will see (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the Unbeliever will say, "Woe unto me! Would that I were (metre) dust!" |

Hilali/Khan | Verily, We have warned you of a near torment, the Day when man will see that (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the disbeliever will say: "Woe to me! Would that I were dust!" |
H/K/Saheeh | Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust!" |
