9:31 اتخذوا احبارهم ورهبانهم اربابا من دون الله والمسيح ابن مريم وماامروا الا ليعبدوا الها واحدا لااله الا هو سبحانه عما يشركون | |
Transliteration | Ittakhathoo ahbarahum waruhbanahum arbaban min dooni Allahi waalmaseeha ibna maryama wama omiroo illa liyaAAbudoo ilahan wahidan la ilaha illa huwa subhanahu AAamma yushrikoona |
Literal | They took their religious scholars and their monks (as) lords from other than God and the Messiah, Mary's Son, and they were not ordered/commanded except to worship one God, no God except He, His praise/glory from what they share/make partners (with God). |
Yusuf Ali | They take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of Allah, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship but One Allah: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him). |
