| 11:89 وياقوم لايجرمنكم شقاقي ان يصيبكم مثل مااصاب قوم نوح او قوم هود او قوم صالح وماقوم لوط منكم ببعيد | |
| Transliteration | Waya qawmi la yajrimannakum shiqaqee an yuseebakum mithlu ma asaba qawma noohin aw qawma hoodin aw qawma salihin wama qawmu lootin minkum bibaAAeedin |
| Literal | And you (my) nation (let) not my defiance/animosity (to you) make you commit a crime/sin that strikes you (with) similar (to) what stuck Noah's nation, or Hood's nation, or Saleh's nation, and Lot's nation is not with far/distant from you. |
| Yusuf Ali | "And O my people! let not my dissent (from you) cause you to sin, lest ye suffer a fate similar to that of the people of Noah or of Hud or of Salih, nor are the people of Lut far off from you! |
