2:51 واذ واعدنا موسى اربعين ليلة ثم اتخذتم العجل من بعده وانتم ظالمون | |
Transliteration | Wa-ith waAAadna moosa arbaAAeena laylatan thumma ittakhathtumu alAAijla min baAAdihi waantum thalimoona |
Literal | And when/where We promised Moses forty nights, then you took the calf from after him, and you are unjust/oppressive. |
Yusuf Ali | And remember We appointed forty nights for Moses, and in his absence ye took the calf (for worship), and ye did grievous wrong. |
Pickthal | And when We did appoint for Moses forty nights (of solitude), and then ye chose the calf, when he had gone from you, and were wrong-doers. |
Arberry | And when We appointed with Moses forty nights then you took to yourselves the Calf after him and you were evildoers; |
