29:32 قال ان فيها لوطا قالوا نحن اعلم بمن فيها لننجينه واهله الا امراته كانت من الغابرين


TransliterationQala inna feeha lootan qaloo nahnu aAAlamu biman feeha lanunajjiyannahu waahlahu illa imraatahu kanat mina alghabireena
LiteralHe said: "That (E) in it (is) Lot." They said: "We are more knowledgeable with who (is) in it, we will save/rescue him (E) and his family/people except his woman (wife) was from the remaining behind."

Yusuf AliHe said: "But there is Lut there." They said: "Well do we know who is there : we will certainly save him and his following,- except his wife: she is of those who lag behind!"
PickthalHe said: Lo! Lot is there. They said: We are best aware of who is there. We are to deliver him and his household, all save his wife, who is of those who stay behind.
Arberry He said, 'Lot is in it.' They said, 'We know very well who is in it; assuredly We shall deliver him and his family, except his wife; she has become of those that tarry.'
ShakirHe said: Surely in it is Lut. They said: We know well who is in it; we shall certainly deliver him and his followers, except his wife; she shall be of those who remain behind.
SarwarAbraham said, "Lot is there in that town!" They said, "We know everyone there. We shall certainly save him and his family except his wife who will remain behind."
KhalifaHe said, "But Lot is living there." They said, "We are fully aware of everyone who lives in it. We will of course save him and his family, except his wife; she is doomed."
Hilali/KhanIbrahim (Abraham) said: "But there is Lout (Lot) in it." They said:"We know better who is there, we will verily save him (Lout (Lot)) and his family, except his wife, she will be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed along with those who will be destroyed from her folk)."
H/K/Saheeh[Abraham] said, Indeed, within it is Lot. They said, We are more knowing of who is within it. We will surely save him and his family, except his wife. She is to be of those who remain behind.
MalikAbraham said: "But Lot is in there." The angels replied: "We know who is in there: we shall certainly save him and his family, except his wife, who will remain behind!"[32]
QXPAbraham said, "But Lot is also there." They said, "We know fully well who dwell there. We will certainly save him, his household and his followers - all but his wife - she will be of those that stay behind (since she has stayed behind in belief)." ('Ahl' of a Prophet includes his household and his followers. (7:80-84), (11:70-89), (15:59), (21:71-76), (26:161-167), (27:54-56), (66:10))
Maulana AliHe said: Surely in it is Lot. They said: We know well who is in it; we shall certainly deliver him and his followers, except his wife; she is of those who remain behind.

Qaribullah He said: 'Lot is in it. ' They replied: 'We know who are in it, we shall save him and his family, except his wife, she has become of those that shall remain behind. '

George SaleAbraham answered, verily Lot dwelleth there. They replied, we well know who dwelleth therein: we will surely deliver him and his family, except his wife; she shall be one of those who remain behind.
JM RodwellHe said, "Lot is therein." They said, "We know full well who therein is. Him and his family will we save, except his wife; she will be of those who linger.

Asad[And when Abraham] exclaimed, "But Lot lives there!" - they answered: We know fully well who is there; most certainly we shall save him and his household - all but his wife: she will indeed be among those that stay behind." [See notes on 7:83 and 11:81. In the present instance, as well as in the next verse, the past-tense auxiliary verb kanat is meant to stress the inevitability of the future event referred to; hence, "she will indeed be...", etc.]
