| 39:47 ولو ان للذين ظلموا مافي الارض جميعا ومثله معه لافتدوا به من سوء العذاب يوم القيامة وبدا لهم من الله مالم يكونوا يحتسبون | |
| Transliteration | Walaw anna lillatheena thalamoo ma fee al-ardi jameeAAan wamithlahu maAAahu laiftadaw bihi min soo-i alAAathabi yawma alqiyamati wabada lahum mina Allahi ma lam yakoonoo yahtasiboona |
| Literal | And if that (E) to those who were unjust/oppressive what (is) in the earth/Planet Earth all/all together, and equal to it with it, they would have ransomed/compensated with it from the torture's evil/harm (on) the Resurrection Day, and it appeared to them from God what they were not thinking/supposing. |
| Yusuf Ali | Even if the wrong-doers had all that there is on earth, and as much more, (in vain) would they offer it for ransom from the pain of the Penalty on the Day of Judgment: but something will confront them from Allah, which they could never have counted upon! |
