| 45:32 واذا قيل ان وعد الله حق والساعة لاريب فيها قلتم ماندري ماالساعة ان نظن الا ظنا ومانحن بمستيقنين | |
| Transliteration | Wa-itha qeela inna waAAda Allahi haqqun waalssaAAatu la rayba feeha qultum ma nadree ma alssaAAatu in nathunnu illa thannan wama nahnu bimustayqineena |
| Literal | And if (it) was said: "That truly God's promise (is) truth , and the Hour/Resurrection (there is) no doubt/suspicion in it." You said: "We do not know what (is) the Hour/Resurrection , that we assume/suppose except thought/assumption , and we (are) not with being sure/certain." |
| Yusuf Ali | "And when it was said that the promise of Allah was true, and that the Hour- there was no doubt about its (coming), ye used to say, 'We know not what is the hour: we only think it is an idea, and we have no firm assurance.'" |
