5:36 ان الذين كفروا لو ان لهم مافي الارض جميعا ومثله معه ليفتدوا به من عذاب يوم القيامة ماتقبل منهم ولهم عذاب اليم | |
Transliteration | Inna allatheena kafaroo law anna lahum ma fee al-ardi jameeAAan wamithlahu maAAahu liyaftadoo bihi min AAathabi yawmi alqiyamati ma tuqubbila minhum walahum AAathabun aleemun |
Literal | That those who disbelieved, if that for them what (is) in the earth/Planet Earth all together, and similar/equal to it, with it to ransom/compensate with it from the Resurrection Day's torture, (it) would not be accepted from them, and to them (is) a painful torture. |
Yusuf Ali | As to those who reject Faith,- if they had everything on earth, and twice repeated, to give as ransom for the penalty of the Day of Judgment, it would never be accepted of them, theirs would be a grievous penalty. |
Pickthal | As for those who disbelieve, lo! if all that is in the earth were theirs, and as much again therewith, to ransom them from the doom on the Day of Resurrection, it would not be accepted from them. Theirs will be a painful doom. |
