63:8 يقولون لئن رجعنا الى المدينة ليخرجن الاعز منها الاذل ولله العزة ولرسوله وللمؤمنين ولكن المنافقين لايعلمون | |
Transliteration | Yaqooloona la-in rajaAAna ila almadeenati layukhrijanna al-aAAazzu minha al-athalla walillahi alAAizzatu walirasoolihi walilmu/mineena walakinna almunafiqeena la yaAAlamoona |
Literal | They say: "If (E) we returned to the city/town, the more dignified/honoured will bring out (exile) the most humiliated/weakest ." And to God (is) the glory/might/power , and to His messenger, and to the believers, and but the hypocrites do not know. |
Yusuf Ali | They say, "If we return to Medina, surely the more honourable (element) will expel therefrom the meaner." But honour belongs to Allah and His Messenger, and to the Believers; but the Hypocrites know not. |
Pickthal | They say: Surely, if we return to Al-Madinah the mightier will soon drive out the weaker; when might belongeth to Allah and to His messenger and to the believers; but the hypocrites know not. |
Arberry | They say, 'If we return to the City, the mightier ones of it will expel the more abased'; yet glory belongs unto God, and unto His Messenger and the believers, but the hypocrites do not know it. |
Shakir | They say: If we return to Medina, the mighty will surely drive out the meaner therefrom; and to Allah belongs the might and to His Messenger and to the believers, but the hypocrites do not know. |
Sarwar | This is because they accepted the faith and then rejected it. God has sealed their hearts, thus, they do not have any understanding. |
Khalifa | They say, "If we go back to the city, the powerful therein will evict the weak (and we will be victimized)." (They should know that) all dignity belongs to GOD and His messenger, and the believers. However, the hypocrites do not know. |
Hilali/Khan | They (hyprocrites) say: "If we return to Al-Madinah, indeed the more honourable (Abdoollah bin Ubai bin Salul, the chief of hyprocrites at AlMadinah) will expel therefrom the meaner (i.e. Allahs Messenger SAW)." But honour, power and glory belong to Allah, His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and to the believers, but the hypocrites know not. |
H/K/Saheeh | They say, "If we return to al-Madinah, the more honored [for power] will surely expel therefrom the more humble." And to Allah belongs [all] honor, and to His Messenger, and to the believers, but the hypocrites do not know. |
Malik | They say: "When we return to Medina, the honorable ones will soon drive out the mean ones." But the honor belongs to Allah, to His Messenger and to the believers; but the hypocrites do not know.[8] |
QXP | And they say (upon returning from Banu Mustaliq in 5 A.H.), "Indeed, when we return to Al-Madinah, we the honored ones will expel there from those contemptible ones." However, all honor belongs to Allah and to His Messenger and those who believe. But the hypocrites know not. |

Asad | [And] they say, "Indeed, when we return to the City 10 [we,] the ones most worthy of honour will surely drive out therefrom those most contemptible ones!" However, all honour belongs to God, and [thus] to His Apostle and those who believe [in God]: but of this the hypocrites are not aware. |
