| 64:5 الم ياتكم نبأ الذين كفروا من قبل فذاقوا وبال امرهم ولهم عذاب اليم | |
| Transliteration | Alam ya/tikum nabao allatheena kafaroo min qablu fathaqoo wabala amrihim walahum AAathabun aleemun |
| Literal | Did not news/information come to you (of) those who disbelieved from before? So they tasted/experienced their matter's/affair's severity/bad consequences , and for them (is) a painful torture. |
| Yusuf Ali | Has not the story reached you, of those who rejected Faith aforetime? So they tasted the evil result of their conduct; and they had a grievous Penalty. |
