7:77 فعقروا الناقة وعتوا عن امر ربهم وقالوا ياصالح ائتنا بما تعدنا ان كنت من المرسلين | |
Transliteration | FaAAaqaroo alnnaqata waAAataw AAan amri rabbihim waqaloo ya salihu i/tina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina almursaleena |
Literal | So they wounded/slaughtered/made the female camel infertile and they became arrogant/disobedient from their Lord's order/command, and they said: "You Saleh, come/bring to us with what you promise us if you are from the messengers." |
Yusuf Ali | Then they ham-strung the she-camel, and insolently defied the order of their Lord, saying: "O Salih! bring about thy threats, if thou art a messenger (of Allah)!" |
Pickthal | So they hamstrung the she-camel, and they flouted the commandment of their Lord, and they said: O Salih! Bring upon us that thou threatenest if thou art indeed of those sent (from Allah). |
