Yes, I am a sinner, I am not perfect, I am not God, only God is
perfect, but my God, Allah, knows I am not perfect and is full of Love and
Forgiveness for those who ask for pardon for their weaknesses.
"And seek assistance through patience and prayer, and most surely
it is a hard thing except for the humble ones" {Translation of Ayat 2:45}
"Surely We have given to you a clear victory that Allah may
forgive thee thy faults of the past and those to follow; fulfil His favour to
thee; and guide thee on the Straight Way" {Translation of Ayats 48:1-2}
As we see, Allah knows we are full of faults, yet Allah forgives
those who at least try to be good, if you make no effort to be close to
God, then God will make no effort to be close to you..
Christians claim God *Demands* that we be absolutely perfect to
be accepted by God, they rely on this verse to attempt to support
their assumed *command*
Matthew 5:48"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which
is in heaven is perfect."
The answer to this parable is;
If I tell you to be talented, even as Bruce Lee is talented, of
course I am smart enough to know you can't be exactly like Bruce Lee, but
what I am actually saying is "try to be talented", and giving you a
criteria to set your goals at, but I am not naive enough to demand that you be exactly
like Bruce Lee because I know you.
Christians insist God does not know our limits and insists that
we either be faultless or categorize ourselves as _sinners_.
There is measurement and accountability in Islam, no one is
completely evil and no one is completely good, we will be rewarded
for the good we do and punished for the bad we do:
"On no soul doth Allah Place a burden greater than it can bear.
It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it
earns. (Pray:) "Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into
error; our Lord! Lay not on us a burden Like that which Thou didst
lay on those before us; Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater
than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, and grant us
forgiveness. Have mercy on us. Thou art our Protector; Help us
against those who stand against faith." {Holy Qur'an 2:286}
Like Buddhism, Islam acknowledges our human nature of having some
quantities good and some quantities of evil.
We are not completely condemned in Islam for having faults.
Christians propagate that accepting the blood of Jesus will 'cleanse
all sins' past and future, allowing them to live a conscienceless
life, expecting to be allowed directly into Heaven. And if we don't
worship Jesus, and we have one single tiny fault, then we will be
thrown directly into Hell.
What about the humans who are sick? God knows He created some
sick humans with physical or mental disorders who can't be perfect
or acknowledge their Savior, whether they wanted to or not, but
Allah knows He didn't create humans perfect nor demands that they
are all Perfect:
" Thy Lord doth know that thou standest forth (to prayer) nigh
two-thirds of the night, or half the night, or a third of the night, and so
doth a party of those with thee. But Allah doth appoint night and day in due
measure He knoweth that ye are unable to keep count thereof. So He hath
turned to you (in mercy): read ye, therefore, of the Qur'an as much as may be
easy for you. He knoweth that there may be (some) among you in ill-health"
{Holy
Qur'an 73:20}
"There is no harm in the blind, nor is there any harm in the
lame, nor is there any harm in the sick (if they do not go forth); and whoever
obeys Allah and His Messenger, He will cause him to enter gardens
beneath which rivers flow, and whoever turns back, He will punish him with a
painful punishment." {Holy Qur'an 48:017}
" There is no blame on those who are infirm, or ill, or who find
no resources to spend (on the cause), if they are sincere (in duty)
to Allah and His Messenger: no ground (of complaint) can there be against
such as do right: and Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." {Holy Qur'an 9:91}
" Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a
guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between
right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during
that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a
journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah
intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He
wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has
guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful." {Holy Qur'an 2:185}
In conclusion, you are not a sinner in the sight of Allah, you
are a beautiful human, Allah knows you have faults, seek the
Forgiveness of Allah, do not condemn yourself simply for being born.
Allah Loves you from birth.
Peace
