| 19:23 فاجاءها المخاض الى جذع النخلة قالت ياليتني مت قبل هذا وكنت نسيا منسيا | |
| Transliteration | Faajaaha almakhadu ila jithAAi alnnakhlati qalat ya laytanee mittu qabla hatha wakuntu nasyan mansiyyan |
| Literal | So the labour/childbirth came to her to (at) the palm tree's trunk/stem, she said: "Oh I wish I would have died before this and I was forgotten (and long) forgotten." |
| Yusuf Ali | And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree: She cried (in her anguish): "Ah! would that I had died before this! would that I had been a thing forgotten and out of sight!" |
