| Transliteration | Fanabathnahu bialAAara-i wahuwa saqeemun |
| Literal | So We casted him off/discarded him at the open space and (while) he is sick/ill . |
| Yusuf Ali | But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, |
