| Transliteration | Wama tujzawna illa ma kuntum taAAmaloona |
| Literal | And you are not being reimbursed except (for) what you were making/doing/working. |
| Yusuf Ali | But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- |
| Pickthal | Ye are requited naught save what ye did - |
| Arberry | and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' |
