| Transliteration | Wathanna annahu alfiraqu |
| Literal | And (he) thought/assumed that it is the separation. |
| Yusuf Ali | And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; |
| Pickthal | And he knoweth that it is the parting; |
| Arberry | and he thinks that it is the parting |
| Shakir | And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting |
| Sarwar | (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. |
