97:1 سورة القدر بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛــــ انا انزلناه في ليلة القدر |

Transliteration | Inna anzalnahu fee laylati alqadri |
Literal | We (E) descended it in the predestined/destiny night .474 |

Yusuf Ali | We have indeed revealed this (Message) in the Night of Power: |
Pickthal | Lo! We revealed it on the Night of Predestination. |
Arberry | Behold, We sent it down on the Night of Power; |
Shakir | Surely We revealed it on the grand night. |
Sarwar | We revealed the Quran on the Night of Destiny. |
Khalifa | We revealed it in the Night of Destiny. |
Hilali/Khan | Verily! We have sent it (this Quran) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) |
H/K/Saheeh | Indeed, We sent the Qurâ an down during the Night of Decree. |
Malik | Surely We have revealed this (Qur’an) in the night of Qadr.[1] |

97:2 وماادراك ماليلة القدر |

Transliteration | Wama adraka ma laylatu alqadri |
Literal | And what made you know/informed you what the predestined/destiny night (is)? |

Yusuf Ali | And what will explain to thee what the night of power is? |

97:3 ليلة القدر خير من الف شهر |

Transliteration | Laylatu alqadri khayrun min alfi shahrin |
Literal | The predestined/destiny night (is) better than one thousand month (lunar months). |

Yusuf Ali | The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. |
Pickthal | The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. |
Arberry | The Night of Power is better than a thousand months; |
Shakir | The grand night is better than a thousand months. |

97:4 تنزل الملائكة والروح فيها باذن ربهم من كل امر |

Transliteration | Tanazzalu almala-ikatu waalrroohu feeha bi-ithni rabbihim min kulli amrin |
Literal | The angels descend and the Soul/Spirit in it, by their Lord's permission/pardon from every matter/affair. |

Yusuf Ali | Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by Allah's permission, on every errand: |
Pickthal | The angels and the Spirit descend therein, by the permission of their Lord, with all decrees. |

Literal | Security/peace it is until the dawn's ascent/rising . |

Yusuf Ali | Peace!...This until the rise of morn! |
Pickthal | (The night is) Peace until the rising of the dawn. |
Arberry | Peace it is, till the rising of dawn. |
Shakir | Peace! it is till the break of the morning. |
Sarwar | This Night is all peace until the break of dawn. |
Khalifa | Peaceful it is until the advent of the dawn. |
