| 102:1 سورة التكاثر بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛـــــــ الهاكم التكاثر |

| Transliteration | Alhakumu alttakathuru |
| Literal | The multiplication distracted/diverted you . |
| |
|
| Yusuf Ali | The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), |
| Pickthal | Rivalry in worldly increase distracteth you |
| Arberry | Gross rivalry diverts you, |
| Shakir | Abundance diverts you, |
| Sarwar | The desire to have more of the worldly gains have pre-occupied you so much (that you have neglected remembring God), |
| Khalifa | You remain preoccupied with hoarding. |
| Hilali/Khan | The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you, |
| H/K/Saheeh | Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you |
| Malik | O mankind, you have been distracted by the rivalry of piling up worldly gains against one another.[1] |
| QXP | The relentless greed of material gains distracts you (from the real purpose of life). (57:20), (83:26). |
| Maulana Ali | Abundance diverts you, |
| Free Minds | Hoarding has distracted you. |
| Qaribullah | The excessive gathering (of increase and boasting) occupied you (from worshipping and obeying) |

| 102:2 حتى زرتم المقابر |

| Transliteration | Hatta zurtumu almaqabira |
| Literal | Until you visited the cemeteries/burial places . |
| |

| Yusuf Ali | Until ye visit the graves. |
| Pickthal | Until ye come to the graves. |
| Arberry | even till you visit the tombs. |
| Shakir | Until you come to the graves. |
| Sarwar | until you come to the graves. |

| Pickthal | Nay, but ye will come to know! |

| Shakir | Nay! Nay! you shall soon know. |
| Sarwar | You shall cetainly know (about the consequences of your deeds). |

| 102:5 كلا لو تعلمون علم اليقين |

| Transliteration | Kalla law taAAlamoona AAilma alyaqeeni |
| Literal | No but if you know knowledge (of) the assurance/certainty . |
| |
|
| Yusuf Ali | Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!) |
| Pickthal | Nay, would that ye knew (now) with a sure knowledge! |
| Arberry | No indeed; did you know with the knowledge of certainty, |
| Shakir | Nay! if you had known with a certain knowledge, |
| Sarwar | You will certainly have the knowledge of your deeds beyond all doubt. |
| Khalifa | If only you could find out for certain. |
| Hilali/Khan | Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) |
| H/K/Saheeh | No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty… |
| Malik | Nay! Would that you knew through the real knowledge provided to you in this Qur’an and care about your life in the Hereafter.[5] |
| QXP | Nay, only if you could have certain knowledge. |
| Maulana Ali | Nay, would that you knew with a certain knowledge! |

| Qaribullah | Indeed, did you know with certain knowledge |

| 102:6 لترون الجحيم |

| Literal | You would see/understand (E) the Hell . |

| Yusuf Ali | Ye shall certainly see Hell-Fire! |
| Pickthal | For ye will behold hell-fire. |
| Arberry | you shall surely see Hell; |
| Shakir | You should most certainly have seen the hell; |
| Sarwar | You will be shown hell |
| Khalifa | You would envision Hell. |
| Hilali/Khan | Verily, You shall see the blazing Fire (Hell)! |

| Malik | Because on the Day of Judgment when you shall see the hell,[6] |

| 102:7 ثم لترونها عين اليقين |
| |

| Transliteration | Thumma latarawunnaha AAayna alyaqeeni |
| Literal | Then you will see/understand it (with) the assurance's/certainty's eye (visually). |

|
| Yusuf Ali | Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight! |
| Pickthal | Aye, ye will behold it with sure vision. |
| Arberry | Again, you shall surely see it with the eye of certainty |
| Shakir | Then you shall most certainly see it with the eye of certainty; |
| Sarwar | and you will see it with your own eyes. |
| Khalifa | Then you would see it with the eye of certainty. |
| Hilali/Khan | And again, you shall see it with certainty of sight! |
| H/K/Saheeh | Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty. |

| 102:8 ثم لتسألن يومئذ عن النعيم |

| Transliteration | Thumma latus-alunna yawma-ithin AAani alnnaAAeemi |
| Literal | Then (on) that day you will be asked/questioned (E) about the blessing/goodness . |
| |
|
| Yusuf Ali | Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!). |
| Pickthal | Then, on that day, ye will be asked concerning pleasure. |
| Arberry | then you shall be questioned that day concerning true bliss. |
| Shakir | Then on that day you shall most certainly be questioned about the boons. |
| Sarwar | Then, on that day, you will be questioned about the bounties (of God). |
| Khalifa | Then you will be questioned, on that day, about the blessings you had enjoyed. |
| Hilali/Khan | Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)! |
| H/K/Saheeh | Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure. |
| Malik | - you shall believe it, but that belief is going to do you no good because - on that Day, you shall be questioned about the blessings (faculties and resources that you were given in the worldly life - as to how you used them?)[8] |
| QXP | And, then, on that Day you will be questioned what you did with the boon of life. (21:13). |
| Maulana Ali | Then on that day you shall certainly be questioned about the boons. |
| Free Minds | Then you will be questioned, on that Day, about the blessings. |
| Qaribullah | On that Day, you shall be questioned about the pleasures. |

| George Sale | Then shall ye be examined, on that day, concerning the pleasures with which ye have amused yourselves in this life. |
| JM Rodwell | Then shall ye on that day be taken to task concerning pleasures. |

| Asad | and on that Day you will most surely be called to account for [what you did with] the boon of life! |
