| 94:1 سورة الانشراح بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛــــ الم نشرح لك صدرك |

| Transliteration | Alam nashrah laka sadraka |
| Literal | Did We not delight/expand your chest (innermost)? |
| |
|
| Yusuf Ali | Have We not expanded thee thy breast?- |
| Pickthal | Have We not caused thy bosom to dilate, |
| Arberry | Did We not expand thy breast for thee |
| Shakir | Have We not expanded for you your breast, |
| Sarwar | (Muhammad), have We not comforted your heart, |
| Khalifa | Did we not cool your temper? |
| Hilali/Khan | Have We not opened your breast for you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))? |
| H/K/Saheeh | Did We not expand for you, [O Muúammad], your breast? |
| Malik | O Prophet! Have We not expanded your breast for you[1] |
| QXP | Did We not expand your chest? (Endowed you with resilience, understanding and a heart and mind to accomplish the ‘impossible’). |
| Maulana Ali | Have We not expanded for thee thy breast, |
| Free Minds | Did We not relieve your chest |
| Qaribullah | Have We not expanded your chest for you (Prophet Muhammad), |

| 94:2 ووضعنا عنك وزرك |
| |

| Transliteration | WawadaAAna AAanka wizraka |
| Literal | And We raised from you your sin/load/burden . |
| |
|
| Yusuf Ali | And removed from thee thy burden |
| Pickthal | And eased thee of the burden |
| Arberry | and lift from thee thy burden, |
| Shakir | And taken off from you your burden, |
| Sarwar | relieved you of the burden |
| Khalifa | And we unloaded your load (of sins). |
| Hilali/Khan | And removed from you your burden, |
| H/K/Saheeh | And We removed from you your burden |
| Malik | and relieved you from the burden[2] |
| QXP | And thus lightened your burden. (Made the journey through life easy by bestowing upon you the perceptual and intellectual faculties). (80:20). |

| 94:3 الذي انقض ظهرك |

| 94:4 ورفعنا لك ذكرك |
| |

| Transliteration | WarafaAAna laka thikraka |
| Literal | And We raised for you your memory/reputation . |
| |
|
| Yusuf Ali | And raised high the esteem (in which) thou (art held)? |
| Pickthal | And exalted thy fame? |
| Arberry | Did We not exalt thy fame? |
| Shakir | And exalted for you your esteem? |
| Sarwar | and granted you an exalted reputation?. |
| Khalifa | We exalted you to an honorable position. |
| Hilali/Khan | And raised high your fame? |
| H/K/Saheeh | And raised high for you your repute. |
| Malik | and exalted your fame?[4] |
| QXP | And exalted your renown (O Prophet!). (And gave eminence to you, O Mankind!). |
| Maulana Ali | And exalted for thee thy mention? |
| Free Minds | And We have raised your remembrance |
| Qaribullah | Have We not raised your remembrance? |

| George Sale | and raised thy reputation for thee? |

| 94:5 فان مع العسر يسرا |
| |

| Transliteration | Fa-inna maAAa alAAusri yusran |
| Literal | So that truly with the difficulty/hardship (is) ease/flexibility. |
| |
|
| Yusuf Ali | So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief: |
| Pickthal | But lo! with hardship goeth ease, |
| Arberry | So truly with hardship comes ease, |
| Shakir | Surely with difficulty is ease. |
| Sarwar | After every difficulty there is relief. |
| Khalifa | With pain there is gain. |
| Hilali/Khan | So verily, with the hardship, there is relief, |
| H/K/Saheeh | For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. |
| Malik | Surely with every difficulty there is relief.[5] |
| QXP | And behold, with every hardship comes ease. |
| Maulana Ali | Surely with difficulty is ease, |

| Qaribullah | Indeed, hardship is followed by ease, |

| 94:6 ان مع العسر يسرا |
| |

| Transliteration | Inna maAAa alAAusri yusran |
| Literal | That truly with the difficulty/hardship (is) ease/flexibility. |

| Yusuf Ali | Verily, with every difficulty there is relief. |
| Pickthal | Lo! with hardship goeth ease; |
| Arberry | truly with hardship comes ease.' |
| Shakir | With difficulty is surely ease. |
| Sarwar | Certainly, after every difficulty there comes relief. |
| Khalifa | Indeed, with pain there is gain. |
| Hilali/Khan | Verily, with the hardship, there is relief (i.e. there is one hardship with two reliefs, so one hardship cannot overcome two reliefs). |
| H/K/Saheeh | Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. |
| Malik | Surely with every difficulty there is relief.[6] |
| QXP | Indeed, with every hardship comes ease! |

| 94:7 فاذا فرغت فانصب |
| |
|
| Transliteration | Fa-itha faraghta fainsab |
| Literal | So when/if you finished/ended/completed , so work hard/fatigue. |
| |
|
| Yusuf Ali | Therefore, when thou art free (from thine immediate task), still labour hard, |
| Pickthal | So when thou art relieved, still toil |
| Arberry | So when thou art empty, labour, |
| Shakir | So when you are free, nominate. |
| Sarwar | When you are free from (your obligations), strive hard (to worship God) |
| Khalifa | Whenever possible you shall strive. |
| Hilali/Khan | So when you have finished (from your occupation), then stand up for Allahs worship (i.e. stand up for prayer). |
| H/K/Saheeh | So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship]. |
| Malik | Therefore, when you are free from your daily task, devote your time to the labor of worship[7] |
| QXP | Hence, whenever you are free from the immediate task, embark upon the next strife. |
| Maulana Ali | So when thou art free (from anxiety), work hard, |
| Free Minds | So when you are done, then stand. |
| Qaribullah | So, when you have finished (your prayer), labor (in supplication), |
| |
|
| George Sale | When thou shalt have ended thy preaching, labour to serve God in return for his favours; |
| JM Rodwell | But when thou art set at liberty, then prosecute thy toil. |

| Asad | Hence, when thou art freed [from distress], remain steadfast, |

| 94:8 والى ربك فارغب |
| |
|
| Transliteration | Wa-ila rabbika fairghab |
| Literal | And to your Lord, so wish/desire. |
| |
|
| Yusuf Ali | And to thy Lord turn (all) thy attention. |
| Pickthal | And strive to please thy Lord. |
| Arberry | and let thy Lord be thy Quest. |
| Shakir | And make your Lord your exclusive object. |
| Sarwar | and be devoted to your Lord's service. |
| Khalifa | Seeking only your Lord. |
| Hilali/Khan | And to your Lord (Alone) turn (all your intentions and hopes and) your invocations. |
| H/K/Saheeh | And to your Lord direct [your] longing. |
| Malik | and turn all your attention towards your Lord.[8] |
| QXP | And turn all your attention to your Lord. (Remain focused on the Mission entrusted upon you by your Lord). |
| Maulana Ali | And make thy Lord thy exclusive object. |
| Free Minds | And to your Lord you shall seek. |
| Qaribullah | and let your longing be for your Lord (in humility). |
