Yusuf Ali | (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. |

Literal | You, you the human/mankind, what has deceived/tempted you with (from) your Lord, the honoured/generous ? |

Pickthal | O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, |

82:9 كلا بل تكذبون بالدين |

Literal | No but, rather you lie/deny/falsify with the religion. |

Yusuf Ali | Day! nit ye do reject Right and Judgment! |
Pickthal | Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. |
Arberry | No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; |
Shakir | Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, |
Sarwar | Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, |
Khalifa | Indeed, you disbelieve in the religion. |
Hilali/Khan | Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). |

82:10 وان عليكم لحافظين |

Transliteration | Wa-inna AAalaykum lahafitheena |
Literal | And that truly (We are) on you protectors/observers (E) . |

Yusuf Ali | But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- |
Pickthal | Lo! there are above you guardians, |

Shakir | And most surely there are keepers over you |
Sarwar | but you should know that there are angelic guards |

Khalifa | Surely, the pious have deserved bliss. |

Yusuf Ali | And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire, |

Shakir | And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, |

82:15 يصلونها يوم الدين |

82:19 يوم لاتملك نفس لنفس شيئا والامر يومئذ لله |

Transliteration | Yawma la tamliku nafsun linafsin shay-an waal-amru yawma-ithin lillahi |
Literal | A day/time a self does not own/possess to a self a thing, and the matter/affair/order/command (on) that day (is) to God. |
|
|
Yusuf Ali | (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. |
Pickthal | A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. |
Arberry | A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. |
Shakir | The day on which no soul shall control anything for (another) soul; and the command on that day shall be entirely Allah's. |
Sarwar | On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. |
Khalifa | That is the day when no soul can help another soul, and all decisions, on that day, will belong to GOD. |

Malik | It will be the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another: for, on that Day, Allah shall keep the entire command to Himself.[19] |
QXP | That is the Day when no person will have the power to help another. For, on that Day (it will become obvious) that all Command belongs to Allah alone. |
Maulana Ali | The day when no soul controls aught for another soul. And the command on that day is Allah’s. |
Free Minds | The Day when no soul possesses anything for any other soul, and the decision on that Day is to God. |
Qaribullah | It is the Day when no soul can do a thing for another soul. That Day, the command belongs to Allah. |
