Literal | And they did not revenge/punish from them except (because) that (E) they believe with (in) God, the glorious/mighty , the praiseworthy/commendable. |

Yusuf Ali | And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- |

Transliteration | Inna allatheena fatanoo almu/mineena waalmu/minati thumma lam yatooboo falahum AAathabu jahannama walahum AAathabu alhareeqi |
Literal | That truly those who tortured/betrayed/allured the believers (M) and the believers (F), then they did not repent, so for them (is) Hell's torture, and for them (is) the burning's torture. |

Yusuf Ali | Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. |
Pickthal | Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. |
Arberry | Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. |

Malik | Those who persecute the believing men and believing women and do not repent, shall receive the punishment of hell, wherein they shall have the punishment of conflagration.[10] |
QXP | Behold, those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, and then repent not, theirs, verily, is the doom of Hell - yes, theirs is the doom of burning. |
Maulana Ali | Those who persecute believing men and believing women, then repent not, theirs is the chastisement of hell, and theirs the chastisement of burning. |

85:11 ان الذين امنوا وعملوا الصالحات لهم جنات تجري من تحتها الانهار ذلك الفوز الكبير |

Transliteration | Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum jannatun tajree min tahtiha al-anharu thalika alfawzu alkabeeru |
Literal | That truly those who believed and made/did the correct/righteous deeds, for them (are) treed gardens/paradises the rivers/waterways flow from below it, that is the winning/success , the great . |

Yusuf Ali | For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), |
Pickthal | Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. |

QXP | Verily, those who choose to be graced with belief and do actions that help people, theirs are the Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Eminence. |
Maulana Ali | Those who believe and do good, theirs are Gardens wherein flow rivers. That is the great achievement. |
Free Minds | Those who believe and do good works, they will have gardens with rivers flowing beneath. Such is the great reward. |
Qaribullah | (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! |

85:12 ان بطش ربك لشديد |

Literal | That truly your Lord's violent attack/destruction (is) strong (E) (severe). |

Yusuf Ali | Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord. |

85:13 انه هو يبدئ ويعيد |

Literal | That He truly creates/initiates , and returns/repeats . |

Yusuf Ali | It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). |
Pickthal | Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, |
Arberry | Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, |
