76:1 سورة الانسان بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛــــ هل اتى على الانسان حين من الدهر لم يكن شيئا مذكورا |

Literal | Did (it) come on the human/mankind (a) period of time from the long time he was not a mentioned/remembered thing? |

76:2 انا خلقنا الانسان من نطفة امشاج نبتليه فجعلناه سميعا بصيرا |

Transliteration | Inna khalaqna al-insana min nutfatin amshajin nabtaleehi fajaAAalnahu sameeAAan baseeran |
Literal | That We, We created the human/mankind from a drop/male's or female's secretion mixtures (of secretions), We test him, so We made/created him hearing/listening, seeing/knowing . |

Yusuf Ali | Verily We created Man from a drop of mingled sperm, in order to try him: So We gave him (the gifts), of Hearing and Sight. |

QXP | Behold, it is We who have created the human being from marked out cells, male and female gametes, that joined. Then We passed him through subtle changes. And then We made him a being endowed with Hearing and Sight. |

Transliteration | Inna hadaynahu alssabeela imma shakiran wa-imma kafooran |
Literal | That We, We guided him the way/path , either (he is) thankful/grateful and either (an insistent) disbeliever. |

Yusuf Ali | We showed him the Way: whether he be grateful or ungrateful (rests on his will). |
Pickthal | Lo! We have shown him the way, whether he be grateful or disbelieving. |
Arberry | Surely We guided him upon the way whether he be thankful or unthankful. |

Transliteration | Inna aAAtadna lilkafireena salasila waaghlalan wasaAAeeran |
Literal | That We prepared/made ready for the disbelievers chains/successions, and leather or iron collars or handcuffs and blazing/inflaming (punishment). |

Yusuf Ali | For the Rejecters we have prepared chains, yokes, and a blazing Fire. |
Pickthal | Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers manacles and carcans and a raging fire. |

Literal | That truly the righteous/charitable drink from a cup its mixture/blend was camphor . |

Literal | A water well/spring God's worshippers/slaves drink by it, they cause it to flow bursting/flowing . |

Literal | They fulfill/complete with the vow/duty (on oneself) , and they fear a day/time its evil/harm was spread and scattered . |

Yusuf Ali | They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide. |
Pickthal | (Because) they perform the vow and fear a day whereof the evil is wide-spreading, |

Literal | And they feed the food on (inspite of) its love/like (to it to) a poorest of poor/poor oppressed and an orphan ,and a captive/prisoner. |

Literal | (They say): "Truly we feed you for God's sake , we do not want from you a reward/reimbursement ,and nor thankfulness/gratefulness. |

Pickthal | (Saying): We feed you, for the sake of Allah only. We wish for no reward nor thanks from you; |

76:11 فوقاهم الله شر ذلك اليوم ولقاهم نضرة وسرورا |

Transliteration | Fawaqahumu Allahu sharra thalika alyawmi walaqqahum nadratan wasurooran |
Literal | So God protected/preserved them (from) that the day's/time's bad/evil/harm, and He made them meet/find beauty and goodness and delight/happiness. |
|
|
Yusuf Ali | But Allah will deliver them from the evil of that Day, and will shed over them a Light of Beauty and (blissful) Joy. |
Pickthal | Therefor Allah hath warded off from them the evil of that day, and hath made them find brightness and joy; |
Arberry | So God has guarded them from the evil of that day, and has procured them radiancy and gladness, |
Shakir | Therefore Allah win guard them from the evil of that day and cause them to meet with ease and happiness; |
Sarwar | God will certainly rescue them from the terror of that day and will meet them with joy and pleasure. |
Khalifa | Consequently, GOD protects them from the evils of that day, and rewards them with joy and contentment. |

76:12 وجزاهم بما صبروا جنة وحريرا |

Transliteration | Wajazahum bima sabaroo jannatan wahareeran |
Literal | And He rewarded/reimbursed them because (of) what they were patient (by) treed gardens/paradises and silk. |

Yusuf Ali | And because they were patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments of) silk. |
Pickthal | And hath awarded them for all that they endured, a Garden and silk attire; |
Arberry | and recompensed them for their patience with a Garden, and silk; |

76:13 متكئين فيها على الارائك لايرون فيها شمسا ولازمهريرا |

Transliteration | Muttaki-eena feeha AAala al-ara-iki la yarawna feeha shamsan wala zamhareeran |
Literal | Resting/reclining in it on the luxurious beds/couches, they do not see in it sun and nor severe cold/anger. |

Yusuf Ali | Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold. |
Pickthal | Reclining therein upon couches, they will find there neither (heat of) a sun nor bitter cold. |
Arberry | therein they shall recline upon couches, therein they shall see neither sun nor bitter cold; |
Shakir | Reclining therein on raised couches, they shall find therein neither (the severe heat of) the sun nor intense cold. |

Asad | In that [garden] they will on couches recline, and will know therein neither [burning] sun nor cold severe, |

76:14 ودانية عليهم ظلالها وذللت قطوفها تذليلا |

Transliteration | Wadaniyatan AAalayhim thilaluha wathullilat qutoofuha tathleelan |
Literal | And its shades/shadows (are) near on them, and its fruit harvests was manipulated/dangled low dangling/manipulating. |

Yusuf Ali | And the shades of the (Garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility. |
Pickthal | The shade thereof is close upon them and the clustered fruits thereof bow down. |

Literal | And (they are) being circled around on them with drinking cups from silver and cups (that) were/are clear glass/mirrors . |

Literal | And immortal/eternal children/new borns circle/walk around them, if you saw/understood them you thought/supposed them (that) they (are) scattered/sprinkled pearls. |

Yusuf Ali | And round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): If thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered Pearls. |

Literal | And if you saw/understood, then you saw/understood comfort and ease/blessing and a great ownership/kingdom . |

Transliteration | AAaliyahum thiyabu sundusin khudrun wa-istabraqun wahulloo asawira min fiddatin wasaqahum rabbuhum sharaban tahooran |
Literal | Their tops (covers them) clothes/garments (from) green sarcenet (certain type of silk or brocade) and brocade (silk and gold fabric), and they were bejeweled/ornamented (with) bracelets from silver, and their Lord gave/made them drink a pure/clear drink. |

Yusuf Ali | Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine Pure and Holy. |

Malik | They (the residents of paradise) shall be arrayed in the garments of fine green silk and rich brocade, and adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them pure wine to drink.[21] |
QXP | Upon them will be garments of green silk with gold embroidery, and they will be honored with bracelets of silver. And their Lord will give them pure refreshing drinks. |
Maulana Ali | On them are garments of fine green silk and thick brocade, and they are adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord makes them to drink a pure drink. |

Literal | That truly that was for you a reward/reimbursement , and your striving/endeavor was/is thanked. |

Yusuf Ali | "Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised." |
Pickthal | (And it will be said unto them): Lo! this is a reward for you. Your endeavour (upon earth) hath found acceptance. |
Arberry | Behold, this is a recompense for you, and your striving is thanked.' |
Shakir | Surely this is a reward for you, and your striving shall be recompensed. |
Sarwar | This will be their reward and their efforts will be appreciated. |

76:23 انا نحن نزلنا عليك القران تنزيلا |

Literal | That We, We descended on you the Koran descent. |

Yusuf Ali | It is We Who have sent down the Qur'an to thee by stages. |
Pickthal | Lo! We, even We, have revealed unto thee the Qur'an, a revelation; |
Arberry | Surely We have sent down the Koran on thee, a sending down; |
Shakir | Surely We Ourselves have revealed the Quran to you revealing (it) in portions. |

Malik | Surely, it is We Who have sent down this Qur’an to you through gradual revelations,[23] |
QXP | Behold, We, yes, We have revealed unto you the Qur'an step by step, a Revelation from Us. |
Maulana Ali | Surely We have revealed the Qur’an to thee, in portions. |
Free Minds | We have sent down to you the Quran in stages. |
Qaribullah | We have indeed, sent down to you the Koran, a (clear) sending, |

76:24 فاصبر لحكم ربك ولاتطع منهم اثما او كفورا |

Transliteration | Faisbir lihukmi rabbika wala tutiAA minhum athiman aw kafooran |
Literal | So be patient for your Lord's judgment/rule, and do not obey a sinner/criminal (insistent) disbeliever from them. |
|
|
Yusuf Ali | Therefore be patient with constancy to the Command of thy Lord, and hearken not to the sinner or the ingrate among them. |
Pickthal | So submit patiently to thy Lord's command, and obey not of them any guilty one or disbeliever. |
Arberry | so be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord, and obey not one of them, sinner or unbeliever. |
Shakir | Therefore wait patiently for the command of your Lord, and obey not from among them a sinner or an ungrateful one. |
Sarwar | So wait patiently for the command of your Lord and do not yield to any sinful or disbelieving person among them (people). |
Khalifa | You shall steadfastly carry out your Lord's commandments, and do not obey any sinful disbeliever among them. |
Hilali/Khan | Therefore be patient (O Muhammad SAW) and submit to the Command of your Lord (Allah, by doing your duty to Him and by conveying His Message to mankind), and obey neither a sinner nor a disbeliever among them. |
H/K/Saheeh | So be patient for the decision of your Lord and do not obey from among them a sinner or ungrateful [disbeliever]. |
Malik | therefore, await with patience the command of your Lord and do not yield to any sinner or disbeliever from among the unbelievers.[24] |
QXP | Therefore, hold on to your Lord's Command unwaveringly. And heed not of them any dragger of progress or devotee of darkness. ('Athim' = One who drags or pulls down progress). |
Maulana Ali | So wait patiently for the judgment of thy Lord, and obey not a sinner or an ungrateful one among them. |
Free Minds | So be patient to the judgment of your Lord, and do not obey from them any sinner or rejecter. |
Qaribullah | therefore be patient under the Judgement of your Lord, and do not obey either the sinner or the unbeliever. |

George Sale | Wherefore patiently wait the judgement of thy Lord; and obey not any wicked person or unbeliever among them. |

76:25 واذكر اسم ربك بكرة واصيلا |

Literal | And remember/mention your Lord (at) daybreaks/early mornings and (at) evening to sunset . |

Yusuf Ali | And celebrate the name or thy Lord morning and evening, |

QXP | Raise the Name of your Lord morning and evening. ('Zikr' = Remembrance = Commemoration = Raise = Celebration = Magnify = Give eminence = Taking to heart = Keeping in mind). |
Maulana Ali | And glorify the name of thy Lord morning and evening. |
Free Minds | And remember the name of your Lord morning and evening. |
Qaribullah | And, remember the Name of your Lord at the dawn and in the evening; |

Literal | And from the night, so prostrate to Him, and praise/glorify Him at night/nightly long. |

Yusuf Ali | And part of the night, prostrate thyself to Him; and glorify Him a long night through. |
Pickthal | And worship Him (a portion) of the night. And glorify Him through the livelong night. |
Arberry | and part of the night; bow down before Him and magnify Him through the long night. |
Shakir | And during part of the night adore Him, and give glory to Him (a) long (part of the) night. |
Sarwar | Prostrate before Him and glorify Him extensively during the night. |
Khalifa | During the night, fall prostrate before Him, and glorify Him many a long night. |

Malik | prostrate before Him at night and glorify Him during the long hours of night.[26] |
QXP | Adore Him even at night and strive to establish His Glory on earth through long nights (as you do morning and evening). |
Maulana Ali | And during part of the night adore Him, and glorify Him throughout a long night. |
Free Minds | And from the night you shall prostrate to Him and praise Him throughout. |
Qaribullah | and in the night prostrate to Him; and exalt Him for a long night. |

76:27 ان هؤلاء يحبون العاجلة ويذرون وراءهم يوما ثقيلا |

Transliteration | Inna haola-i yuhibboona alAAajilata wayatharoona waraahum yawman thaqeelan |
Literal | That truly those love/like the worldly life/present, and they leave behind them a heavy day/time. |
|
|
Yusuf Ali | As to these, they love the fleeting life, and put away behind them a Day (that will be) hard. |
Pickthal | Lo! these love fleeting life, and put behind them (the remembrance of) a grievous day. |
Arberry | Surely these men love the hasty world, and leave be behind them a heavy day. |
Shakir | Surely these love the transitory and neglect a grievous day before them. |

Khalifa | These people are preoccupied with this fleeting life, while disregarding - just ahead of them - a heavy day. |
Hilali/Khan | Verily! These (disbelievers) love the present life of this world, and put behind them a heavy Day (that will be hard). |
H/K/Saheeh | Indeed, these [disbelievers] love the immediate and leave behind them a grave Day. |
Malik | These unbelievers love the transitory life of this world and neglect the heavy Day that is coming ahead.[27] |
QXP | Behold, these people love only the instant gains and as a result leave behind a yesterday laden (with transgressions and wasted opportunities of doing good). |
Maulana Ali | Surely these love the transitory life and neglect a grievous day before them. |
Free Minds | These people like the current life, and they put behind them a heavy Day. |
Qaribullah | Indeed, these love the hasty life, and are heedless and leave behind them a heavy Day. |

Transliteration | Nahnu khalaqnahum washadadna asrahum wa-itha shi/na baddalna amthalahum tabdeelan |
Literal | We, We created them and We strengthened/supported their bone structure/ties and joints/(strengths) , and if We willed/wanted/intended We exchanged/replaced their equivalent (by) an exchange/replacement . |

Yusuf Ali | It is We Who created them, and We have made their joints strong; but, when We will, We can substitute the like of them by a complete change. |
Pickthal | We, even We, created them, and strengthened their frame. And when We will, We can replace them, bringing others like them in their stead. |

QXP | (Who gave them the mind and body to behave the way they choose?) We it is Who have created them, and strengthened their frame. And if We Will, We can replace them entirely with other nations. (Nations who will use their human potentials better. (70:41)). |

76:29 ان هذه تذكرة فمن شاء اتخذ الى ربه سبيلا |

Transliteration | Inna hathihi tathkiratun faman shaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi sabeelan |
Literal | That truly this (is) a reminder, so who wanted took/received a way/path to his Lord. |

Yusuf Ali | This is an admonition: Whosoever will, let him take a (straight) Path to his Lord. |
Pickthal | Lo! this is an Admonishment, that whosoever will may choose a way unto his Lord. |
Arberry | Surely this is a Reminder; so he who will, takes unto his Lord a way. |
Shakir | Surely this is a reminder, so whoever pleases takes to his Lord a way. |
Sarwar | This chapter is a reminder. Let those who want, seek guidance from their Lord. |

Transliteration | Wama tashaoona illa an yashaa Allahu inna Allaha kana AAaleeman hakeeman |
Literal | And you do not will/want except that (E) God wills/wants/intends, that truly God was/is knowledgeable, wise/judicious. |

Yusuf Ali | But ye will not, except as Allah wills; for Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom. |
Pickthal | Yet ye will not, unless Allah willeth. Lo! Allah is Knower, Wise. |
Arberry | But you will not unless God wills; surely God is ever All-knowing, All-wise. |
Shakir | And you do not please except that Allah please, surely Allah is Knowing, Wise; |
Sarwar | (The virtuous mentioned in this chapter) want only what God wants. God is All-knowing and All-wise. |

Malik | but you cannot will, except by the will of Allah. Surely Allah is All-Knowledgeable, All-Wise.[30] |
QXP | Yet, you cannot will it unless you align your free will with the Will of Allah. (Guidance can only be achieved according to Divine Laws (4:88)). For, behold, Allah is Knower, Wise. |
Maulana Ali | And you will not, unless Allah pleases. Surely Allah is ever Knowing, Wise -- |

Literal | He enters whom He wills/wants in His mercy, and the unjust/oppressive, He prepared for them a painful torture.450 |

Yusuf Ali | He will admit to His Mercy whom He will; But the wrong-doers,- for them has He prepared a grievous Penalty. |
Pickthal | He maketh whom He will to enter His mercy, and for evil-doers hath prepared a painful doom. |
Arberry | For He admits into His mercy whomsoever He will; as for the evildoers, He has prepared for them a painful chastisement. |
Shakir | He makes whom He pleases to enter into His mercy; and (as for) the unjust, He has prepared for them a painful chastisement. |

Malik | He admits to His mercy whom He wills, and for the wrongdoers He has prepared a painful punishment.[31] |
QXP | He admits into His Grace everyone who wills to be admitted. But, for those who wrong their 'Self' by making wrong decisions, He has prepared an awful doom. ('Zulm' = Wrongdoing = Being unjust to others or to one's own 'Self' = Oppression = Relegation of Truth = Displacing anything from its rightful place = Violation of human rights = Transgression). |
Maulana Ali | He admits whom He pleases to His mercy; and the wrongdoers -- He has prepared for them a painful chastisement. |
Free Minds | He admits whom He wills to His mercy. And as for the wicked, He has prepared for them a painful retribution. |
Qaribullah | He is Merciful to whom He will; but, for the harmdoers He has prepared for them a painful punishment. |
