| Literal | That (E) the blind (man) came to him. |

| 80:3 ومايدريك لعله يزكى |

| Transliteration | Wama yudreeka laAAallahu yazzakka |
| Literal | And what makes you know/informs you maybe/perhaps he, he purifies/corrects (himself). |

| Yusuf Ali | But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- |
| Pickthal | What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) |
| Arberry | And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, |
| Shakir | And what would make you know that he would purify himself, |
| Sarwar | You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, |

| Literal | Or He mentions/remembers , so the remembrance/reminder benefits him . |

| Yusuf Ali | Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? |
| Pickthal | Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? |
| Arberry | or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. |
| Shakir | Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him? |
| Sarwar | or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. |

| 80:5 اما من استغنى |

| 80:7 وماعليك الا يزكى |

| Transliteration | Wama AAalayka alla yazzakka |
| Literal | And it (is) not on you that he not purifies/corrects (himself). |

| Yusuf Ali | Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). |
| Pickthal | Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). |
| Arberry | though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. |
| Shakir | And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself |
| Sarwar | though you will not be questioned even if he never purifies himself. |

| Yusuf Ali | But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, |
| Pickthal | But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose |

| Shakir | And as to him who comes to you striving hard, |

| 80:9 وهو يخشى |

| 80:11 كلا انها تذكرة |

| Transliteration | Kalla innaha tathkiratun |
| Literal | No, but that it truly is a reminder. |

| Yusuf Ali | By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: |
| Pickthal | Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, |
| Arberry | No indeed; it is a Reminder |
| Shakir | Nay! surely it is an admonishment. |
| Sarwar | These verses are a reminder |
| Khalifa | Indeed, this is a reminder. |
| Hilali/Khan | Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, |

| Yusuf Ali | From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; |
| Pickthal | From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, |
| Arberry | Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, |
