[These symbolical epithets, consisting of adjectival participles without any mention of the nouns which they qualify, have been variously interpreted by the early commentators; but since there is a consensus of opinion regarding the first of these participles - adh-dhariyat - as denoting "dust-scattering winds", we may assume that the other three relate to different phases or manifestations of the same phenomenon (Razi) - namely, to the life-giving function of the combination of wind, clouds and rain - pointing, symbolically, to the miraculous creation of life as such and, thus, to the existence of a conscious, purposeful Creator.] |

51:5 انما توعدون لصادق |

Literal | Truly/indeed what you are being promised is truthful/true (E) . |

51:9 يؤفك عنه من افك |

Literal | Taste/experience your misguidance/seduction this, which you were with it hurrying/hastening . |

Literal | That truly the fearing and obeying (are) in treed gardens/paradises and water springs/wells. |

Yusuf Ali | As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, |
Pickthal | Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, |
Arberry | Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains |

Literal | Taking what their Lord gave them, that they were before that good doers. |

Yusuf Ali | Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. |
Pickthal | Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; |

Literal | They were little from the night what they (spend in) sleep . |

Yusuf Ali | They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, |

Literal | So his woman (wife) approached/came in an outcry/frown, so she hit/struck (an act of surprise) her face/front and she said: "Old/weak, infertile." |

Malik | We have built the heavens with Our hands, for We have the power to do so.[47] |

51:57 مااريد منهم من رزق ومااريد ان يطعمون |

Literal | I do not want/intend from them from provision , and I do not want/intend that (E) they feed Me. |

Literal | So that to those who were unjust/oppressive (are) crimes, equal/alike (to) their company's/friends' crimes, so do not hurry/hasten Me .386 |

Yusuf Ali | For the Wrong-doers, their portion is like unto the portion of their fellows (of earlier generations): then let them not ask Me to hasten (that portion)! |
Pickthal | And lo! for those who (now) do wrong there is an evil day like unto the evil day (which came for) their likes (of old); so let them not ask Me to hasten on (that day). |
Arberry | The evildoers shall have their portion, like the portion of their fellows; so let them not hasten Me! |

Malik | Surely those who are wrongdoers, shall have their portion of torment similar to the portion of their predecessors; so let them not challenge Me to hurry it on.[59] |
QXP | And behold, the violators of human rights trail behind in humanity as their comrades did in the past. So they should not ask Me to hasten their full recompense. |
Maulana Ali | Surely the lot of the wrongdoers is as was the lot of their companions, so let them not ask Me to hasten on. |
Free Minds | The transgressors will have the same fate as their previous friends; so let them not be hasty. |
Qaribullah | The evildoers shall have for their portion, a portion like their companions (who were destroyed before them). Therefore, they should not ask Us to hasten! |

Malik | Woe then to the unbelievers, on that Day with which they are being threatened![60] |
